If you ask me "what is the point of life", I will ask you "what is the point of a story?" If you want to know why god made the universe, then go find an artist and ask him why is it that he makes art. Or ask a bird why he sings. We do not need to see god to understand him because we are all made in his image. Our art, music, dance, drama, and literature can reveal everything that we are, and our hearts reveal to us the nature of that life force that causes us.
Art is the most intimate form of communication that we have. It allows us to share our unique perspectives with each other. Perspective is everything in art, for both artist and audience alike. And everything is art if you are able to see it as such. So I guess what I'm trying to say is: perspective is everything. If you see letters, you can learn to see words. If you see words, you can learn to see the page. If you can see the page, you can learn to see the book. If you can see the book, you may one day realize that you are in a library.
Our lives are books, and just as your eye travels through the pages of a story, our consciousness travels through time. At every decision we turn the page and get a chance to learn something new about our own character. We do not worry about who we will become. The person we will become is the person we already are. We worry because we don't know what we might discover about that person as our story progresses and our character is revealed.
If we are able have faith in our own characters, to trust in the strength of our own hearts, then we will know peace. Tragedy will become beautiful and beauty will become tragic. Trees form physical bonds with their leaves, planets form gravitational bonds with their suns, and we form love bonds with our friends, but the reality is, leaves fall, stars grow cold, and friends die. Bonds formed, bonds broken. Tis the nature of life, a beautiful tragedy.

[...]The same way you exercise in the gym, you want your arms to be stronger, so you do some curls and presses; you've got to exercise your defiance. It's the most powerful tool that a human being has in a world that's constantly pressing itself upon you.
