Another Drug topic. DMT
DMT is everywhere. Most make it from brazilian root bark, but there are acceptable plant species that even reach up through midwest USA. Here in Wisconsin, phalaris grass(those long prairie grasses that you make whistles out of between your thumbs) is an invasive grass covering 90% of our ground vegetation. In the spring I’m going to ask a farmer if I can help him care for his prairie in exchange for some grass. They usually keep it in check seasonally with controlled burns, so there’s really no reason not to put it to use.

Do you know what your dose was?
Sometimes large doses can cause the experience to be overwhelming and those result in black-outs. 20 minutes is quite a long time for smoked free-base too (especially if you didn’t use an MAOI prior to). They usually average around 10 minutes and 15 is not unheard of. I’ve read about someone who had an unpleasant expereince and it lasted 21 minutes.
From many trip reports and experiences I’ve read about there seems to be a correlation to high dose, amount of time spent in “Hyper Space” and memory loss(of that experience).
Hi Emily! I tried DMT about one year ago, and I do recommend it. I wouldn’t say that the feeling of death is present during the trip at all. It’s hard to describe, but it seems to connect you deeply with your inner self. I wouldn’t recommend taking it while you’re alone, but maybe with a couple of people you trust. My brother and a very close friend sat with me during the trip and talked to me, just repeating very positive things while I laid in the grass. It may not be the same for everyone, but the trip was extremely colorful and bright, and soo immersive. I wasn’t really aware of what was happening until the end. The strangest thing was that I’ve read and been told from friends that the trip only lasts about 15 to 20 minutes, but I was gone for almost 50 minutes. It didn’t take as much out of me as shrooms or LSD, for sure, but it really lifted my mood, which stuck with me for several months. The one and only complaint I have about it is that the taste is TERRIBLE! It seems like inhaling burning plastic and it’s so hard to keep it in your lungs for more than a couple of seconds, which isn’t long enough to get the desired effect. So, if you can power through the bad taste, it’s a wonderful experience. :)
okay, so ill describe my last DMT experience, set the scene: san francisco, 4/21, i woke up dazed and got on bart from oakland to sf, got to the golden gate park and met up with my friend Jesse. He said that someone was offering him DMT that day, long story short, was on hippie hill, the circle I was in was passing around a pipe not saying what it was, after they smoked it they seemed to gaze off as like they were looking at a distant sunset, the pipe got to me and i knew what it was…
I took a deep pull off the steam roller, holding it in thinking of Terrence McKenna, I exhaled. A rush unexplainable, for a second I was like “what the fuck have I done?!” it was intense, its like trying to look at something very shiny, that you cant really look right at. at least for me. I felt like I was a spirit for like 5 minutes, like realized and lived it synthetically, I truly believe all the effects are achievable without the drugs, but goddamn does it open your eyes and give you some fucking motivation (which we definitely need sometimes)…and the sick mind continues to infinite…
It was a standard dose. I heard that about the higher doses as well -same with Sativa- but this was the same as everyone else was doing, except the experienced ones who did higher.
And my time frame may be a tad skewed. probably more like 15 minutes than 20. I think 20 was from beginning to the very end, when I could actually speak and understand words again. The actual “time out” frame was more like 12-15 minutes.
Could be a high suceptability on my part I suppose.
Hi Emily! I’m glad to see people hearing so much about DMT, because it’s certainly an experience I’d want to share with every one that is ready. After first hearing about it, I read for months about the spiritual, mental and physical effects it has. I longed to experience the ego death I read about, and decided to teach myself how to extract the essence from plants. Since then, I’ve gone in a couple dozen times and still can’t say I fully understand it. It’s consistently inconsistent, leading me to believe it really may be the ‘spirit molecule’, since the experience is subjectively different for everyone at different moments–your mindset is your launchpad. The only preparation you really need is teaching yourself to let go and resist nothing.
Like most others, I’d lump my experiences into either breakthroughs, or not. A breakthrough is when you get enough of the DMT in you at once to not know whether your eyes were open or closed. It’s always a powerful and euphoric experience, but you know when you break through because the trip is 50x more intense. For this reason, I recommend always shooting for the breakthrough because shattering your expectations is very enlightening and orgasmic. THIS is the ego death we seek.
I don’t like using words like god or enlightenment, but there’s nothing that can describe the warm, overwhelming truth that you feel during the experience. It feels familiar, like a memory from your childhood about running around outside in the sunshine. A divine light that you can feel the presence of, guiding your eternal innocence.
I personally have a difficult time getting ahold of the stuff in my area although almost all of my friends have tried it by now, and I’m pretty sad about that.
Anyone have any advice on MAKING it, and making it WELL? I’ve been told numerous times that it is honestly not difficult to make. I know there are things out there that explain it, but I’d rather have someone on here tell me that could answer potential questions.
I believe so, Nikola. When you go to sleep, the pineal gland pumps out the dmt it has stored, spurring your dreams. When you awaken, your dreams fade and your pineal begins producing and storing more dmt throughout your day for the night. If you do not sleep for several days, the dmt build up spills into your waking life and you will begin to dream/hallucinate while awake.
I did it a few months back, highly recommend it.
Psychedelics tend to be seen as spooky and are given a bad rap because too many people have bad trips.
Just be smart, stay within your limits, never do more than the suggested dose the first time, and always remember, IT WILL COME TO AN END EVENTUALLY.
The high only lasts for a little while, and was the most visually stimulating experience of my life, few other drugs came close to the intensity that I got from just those few short moments, and days after the trip, my perception of reality was altered significantly, for the better.
Every trip, even a bad trip, is a learning experience, just don’t be frightened and make sure you are surrounded by good people.
I’ve attempted once before but was unfortunately unsuccessful. The smoking process is fucking HARD to get right. Any suggestions on how to smoke it? i.e. What to smoke it out of, how to heat it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks for the help guys!! I am very curious about how to smoke it as well. I think I am gonna have someone who knows how to do it be right there with me. What is the general price range for it as well? and since it lasts 20 to 40 minutes, is it a bad idea to smoke it again once you are back down? O and also, are you still able to talk while doing it? cause I would really like to be able to record my thoughts with a tape recorder but I dont know how easy it will be to say anything at all.
I’ll TRY and explain my experience. Lol but it really didnt last that long.
THE VISUAL: Every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing these really colorful outlines of what I can only describe as demons. Every time I talked, I started to feel kind of normal (like the high was going away). But When I sat there and stared at the dresser, I started to feel it again. Everything went away (including my body) but my spirit and this dresser. The outlines of the dresser where the wood connected was all very bright. It was almost sparkly. It was so beautiful. Then I stared at the wood grain. Suddenly the wood grain started to create patterns and eventually the patterns turned into a little demon guy riding a horse in the desert. It was like the wood grain was actually a TV or something.
PHYSICAL FEELING: After hitting the pipe a few times, I started to feel like my body was going numb and everything was going black(with the exception of a few very bright things). My friend was trying to get me to hit it again but I was a bit overwhelmed on how it felt. I felt like my body was almost going numb and that my spirit was coming out. I kept hearing this high pitched ringing which made it impossible to hear anything else. I felt like I could feel all the blood rushing through me. If you haven’t felt this, then there is no way to understand it. But It literally felt like my soul was trying to leave my body. Not in a scary death kind of way, but in the most amazing way possible. But it never “completely” left my body.
Anyway thats the best I can explain it.
I’ve really been interested to try it too but I don’t know anybody who could get it or even know what it is half the time. I’ve heard there is a way to make your own, but I’m not all to sure about the process of doing that either.
Here are some interesting videos I’ve found before.
So I have heard alot about DMT and am thinking about trying it. I want to know what some of your guys stories and theories are about it. So far I havent heard of anyone dying from taking too much so thats one of the reasons I am ok with doing it. Although I have heard it can make you think you are dead. I just want to know if its worth trying, something to stay away from while doing it, some of your guys trips. The works. Just let me know anything and everything you wanna tell me about DMT.
@Cogito Indeed, the root bark has the highest alkaloid % for dry plant weight, so it’ll be the most yield for your work. I too, have been using bark; this upcoming season will be my first trial with the phalaris.
@Andy Near the capitol, Madison. And yes, it’s very nice to see so many grateful people here taking the chance to try it.
