I’ve been reading about the benefits of these things for a while so I finally decided to give my idea a try. I was mainly interested in the effect they are supposed to have on your energy levels.
Me, being a caffeine addict, decided to try something, figuring maybe it will keep me away from stimulants. In the past I have tried Vyvanse and Ritalin because my friend was prescribed it and I had lots of studying to do. I really liked Vyvanse. It made me more confident and I just felt awesome on it. I haven’t been around that shit in months but I’ve been thinking about it recently because I had awesome workouts on it and I’m lifting again.
Anyway, I just drank a mixture of this, and the feeling is similar to the that of Vyvanse, without the super elevated heart rate. It took some time to kick in but my eyes are wide open and I feel very “in the moment” without even trying. I also feel very content, not anxious like that used to make me. This is what I was looking for!
I strongly suggest this as an alertness booster if your put off at the idea of harsh stimulants.
Here’s a cocktail I would recommend making for a super energy boost. I took a shot of the vinegar and chased with water because of the taste and subsequent burn. Then I just ate the other two out of a spoon because they taste good to me.
-2 tbsp. Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar
-2 tbsp. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
-2 tbsp. Raw Honey
The coconut oil gives you a quick burning, fat-based energy source. You get healthy, simple carbs from the honey, another fast burning energy source. I’m not sure what it is about the vinegar, but it definitely adds to the effect…Give this a try, for real!
I may drink this with my morning coffee tomorrow to get an even stronger effect, but it’s night time here now and I want some sleep tonight.
Thanks man, I used Vyvanse for almost a year to excel in my workplace and in school. I’ve been off it for about 4 months and just picked more up today thinking about making another push–but I’ll definitely try this out instead.
How long does it last? Some days on vyvanse I’d still be buzzing away up to 14 hours. I’ve got a fast metabolism as it is, wouldn’t the oil and honey result in a high burst of energy? The vinegar is probably just extra acid breaking down the oil/honey/stomach contents even faster. Do you eat a huge calorie diet with this?
I’ve got all of these, by very odd reasons separately, so I’ll be shooting this up right away.
@versai, Well I don’t think it will last quite as long as Vyvanse, probably not even close. It definitely gave me a quick boost of energy. Some people say that the energizing effect of the apple cider vinegar builds up if you use it daily. I don’t have a very high caloric diet currently, but I intend to ramp it up gradually to assist my weight training.
Another thing about the vinegar that I’m sure HEthens will appreciate, is that I read it may induce very vivid dreams if taken at night time. I’ll be testing that tonight. Hopefully it works.
And guys, don’t expect it to be insanely stimulating by any means. It definitely has some effect on the psyche though.

Tomorrow I’m going to throw in a B-complex and fish oil pills in this mix too.
@tangledupinplaid21, What do you use to enhance dreaming as of now? I’d like to know of some more. I use valerian root and melatonin occasionally.
I read from a few different sources that combining B6, melatonin, and valerian produces vivid dreams. This was DEFINITELY true the first night I combined them, I even had open eyed auditory hallucinations(at least that’s what I’ve decided to tell myself they were)… but I’m not sure if it’s because I expected my dreams to be vivid that they were. Coincidentally, my boyfriend and I both tried this combination and had scary dreams that night.
St Johns wort and/or 5htp are supposed to produce vivid dreams too. Honestly I take all of the above supplements regularly, and always have vivid dreams but at this point I can’t even tell if it’s correlation or causation cause it’s been so long. :P Try em out though!

When I first opened this I was expecting an article on how to grow out your hair. ACV adds shine, coconut oil is the best moisturizer, and honey is a good deep treatment for ends. I have all these supplies readily available and am also just starting to get back in shape so I will give this a try this afternoon!
Ooh and I just read the vivid dreams part, I’m trying that too so I’ll just post here tomorrow in the am with my results.
