I have been trying to find some things on this on the internet that would be helpful to me, but everything i find is very vague. |

It seems to me that getting proficient with meditation and wake-induced lucid dreaming seem to be great starting points. That’s where I’m starting off at least :) From what I gather, the state that you’re in when you are W.I.L.Ding is when you can start to peel away from your body. |

I’ve read everything on astral projection on the internet and this is by far the best and most complete guide: http://www.v-j-enterprises.com/rbastral.html |

If you’re serious about really studying a consistent method of entering the astral plane then I would recommend reading this book “School of Out-of-Body Travel. A Practical Guidebook” http://www.getfreeebooks.com/?p=1037 This was the first text that I read when i was first looking into astral projection and it was life changing. It is straightforward and gives you steps that you can immediately take. I’ve been at it for about two months now and last night upon becoming lucid I teleported to The Bird’s Nest and then snapped my fingers with the intention of turning on the music and the kooks started playing; it was apparently to epic for me to handle so I woke up… But this book does give some very good methods of holding onto the state, still working on it though. |

http://www.lucidology.com/blog/category/lucidology-101/ I’m currently using the techniques from this website, most of them are all free… best logical approach to the elusive OBE I’ve come across, and I’ve been reading up and casually attempting them for a while. I’m getting sooooo clooose! >_- |

Has anyone on here had a success with astral projection? |

Allie, sounds incredible. How long did it take you to get to that point, had you been practicing for a while prior? Or was it more spontaneous? |

I have. It wasn’t something I planned. Its a very long story and very personal about the things that I saw but I can say that the intense vibrations, almost convulsions, where very real. I was outside of my body but I could feel it shake with a cold shiver every minute or so. the whole time I was in this state I was never sure where I was. I was calling out to my flatmate who I knew was in the garden, then when it was over and I was back in my body I had to go and ask her if she heard me. |

Wow thanks for sharing Allie and Dave! @ Allie: I have a very active mind like you, it’s always running a million miles a minute and that’s been my struggle with meditation. I also always want to get everything right the first time, hence my struggle in yoga! I’m excited to read more about astral projection and maybe give it a shot, might take a while with the way my head functions ;) @ Dave: can I have a link to your blog? |

I’d love to try astral projection too, but I’m frightened to try…Is it possible to “forget” how to go back to your body afterwards? |

@Allie— if I concentrate on anything while being calm on quiet like sounds of candles flickering and stuff long enough to start clearing and quieting my mind, I fall asleep, lol. I simply do NOT know how to meditate. I can easily be calm, and be quiet outloud, and I can have a slowly moving calm brain, but it is never quiet. |

@rain. Sorry I meant to say dream journal. I’m still deciding if I want to share my sub-conscious with the world. If I have one I deem worth of sharing I definitely will do. sorry. |

So I think I successfully astral projected last night, but it was only for about 1 minute, and I have some questions now that hopefully someone can help me out with. 1. Is it possible to astral project while your body is asleep? (I heard myself snoring) Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Yeah congrats! How are you going about it??? I’m still a newbie in practice myself, so I’d love to know the technique you used :) I’ve read so much on the subject, I can rehash some details about your questions from what I’ve learned. I’d listen to Allie though for the how to’s ;) 1) It is definitely possible, in fact it’s almost a requirement for beginners. Astral projection techniques all help you ‘trick’ your body into thinking you are asleep. All trances and meditations that keep you still are shooting for your body to fall ASLEEP while your mind/consciousness stays AWAKE into whatever you are intending to do. So whatever you did, you did it right, keep it up! 2) Along with what Allie said, your body is pretty much in standby, so at most it will twitch. This is because your body has induced waking sleep paralysis. I’ve read that you can still however control your breathing, and people use that to come out of the paralysis/obe. With practice though, I’m sure anything is possible. 3) Again, I tend to think anything is possible. Astral Projection is closely linked to Lucid dreams, the same state of awareness is being used, Except one world is the astral planes and the other is your sandbox ;) My suggestion would be to set your intention back to your body/room, and go from there. Keep us updated on your future travels! |

@Allie I only remember having the upper part of my body, everything below that was kindve like casper. I’m assuming I snapped back into REM sleep because I was controlling my body but I was in astral form. @Dom There’s a technique for achieving Astral Projection using the chakras that I want to start using. I agree with you Dom that anything is possible. |
