Body Types (Male)

And i was wondering which out of the 3 body types is the most common, they all have descriptions about them. Also you can have a mixture of the 2 of them.
I myself am an Endomorph…..What are you?
I would say about 1/3 of American adults are similar to you.
Saying that, I don’t really believe in these things.

Part ecto part meso…. Too skinny to be pure meso, too strong to be pure ecto.
Mesomorph, though all of this sounds like mostly bullshit to me. It’s more about workout, nutrition and lifestyle, not inherent traits. I’ve seen several people change.
Genetics has a lot to do with it, I definitely believe in it. (it’s a huge advantage for the whole genetic pool to have variances like this). But genetics are just potentials, as an endo you have a bigger probability to add weight as fat, but it is not necessarily so. It is harder for ecto’s to gain muscle (they have a different ratio of types of muscle fiber), but with good nutrition, training and discipline it can be done, but never as fast as meso’s.
Yes I think genetics has something to do with it like naturally being heavier or having more muscle. But as human beings if we have the will power to change and to succeed. So there is no reason why like my self who is an endomorph has to stay an endomorph, if i had the determination there would be no problem changing to a mesomorph.

I agree with Manimal, it’s what you make of it. I’m 6 foot 2 and 185 pounds only being 15; so I’d say endomorph but that’s not entirely appropriate, I’m built like a horse but don’t have the hard sculpted muscles, I’m not fat, I don’t have hard sculpted abs or arms or legs, something like that, and I’m not skinny; so I don’t even see how this chart applies to everyone.
I think I am endomorph. I am 6ft, I gain muscle easily and I find it hard to loose weight, even when I’m extremely active over long periods of time.

I’m toned ecto. Probably because I’m so skinny my muscles have no choice but to show :)
ecto/meso. Although most people are hybrids of a few so categorizing it into 3 types is really hogwash.
