@manimal, I am curious about the correlation you’ve connected between more porn being watched and the sperm count being lowered. The reason I bring this up is because there are other factors that are in play that aren’t being accounted for.
One thing I’ve studied is the benefits from cold showers, bursts of cold temperatures, and so fourth. One study done had male users change from taking hot showers each day to cold ones. After one month of this the males showed an increase of sperm count by 470% on average. (Which I can provide you a link to review the information yourself if you’d like ^_^ )

As for my personal opinion on what the post started out as; I believe it can be healty for a male, or female, to get pleasure in that area of the body. Yeah we all see it as a dirty or bad place, but really isn’t our whole body? Think of when you’re sick. Do you even want to go near your own nose?
There are dangers to going in that area, as there are dangers with almost everything we do. As long as you don’t tear something down, or put something that could harm you down there, you shouldn’t have any issues.
LOL at everyone saying not masterbating is bad for health. First of all, not all animals masterbate (although a handful do). Second of all, expelling ANYTHING from the body uses energy. The more energy you exert the quicker you die because you are using life force energy. Of course proper nutrients gains energy back though. How many people masterbate before bed? I know I do. I do this because it makes me TIRED. When you don’t masterbate your body just re-absorbs the nutrients. The only reason probably that the guy who was beat for masterbating couldn’t ejaculate and became sterile because it was a traumatic event. This event was linked to the genetalia which probably gave him hate towards them which in turn made them wilt (the body mind connection is much more powerful then you may believe). A negative mind creates an unhealthy body. If you are healthy and regular your fluids in the body should all be circulated without problem. Unhealthy diets, stress, and emotional damage cause the flow to be ceased which leads to disease and other physical problems. I know when I masterbate less I have more drive to go out and experience things. This is true also for finding a member of the opposite sex (which many human activities are subconsciously driven by). If you masterbate too often you lose the drive to find actual sex because you can release the energy by yourself. This creates unhealthy porn and masterbating addictions which lead to many other problems.
My stance on this is masterbation maybe once a week seems to work best for me. If I don’t masterbate that often I can get irritable and overly horny (which causes many unwanted boners). But I don’t believe masterbating frequently is good for health unless you lead an active, positive life and eat the proper foods (although if you do you probably won’t be masterbating this much, another link to why it’s unhealthy in larger amounts).

@travisad, There’s a shitload of factors, but wasting the chrism is one of the big culprits behind the lack of chrism.
It’s not the porn itself that’s the problem, masturbation is. More specifically, ejaculation.
Cold showers boost not only sperm count, but also testosterone levels. Which is of course fucking splendid and awesome in every way. Plus, more testosterone = more chrism.
