Calling all artists, I have an opportunity for you :) — Jordan
I have a opportunity for all of you crazy artists out there. I’ve doing a Kickstarter in a few weeks for a clothing company I’ve dreamt up called RaveNectar. The mission it is to appeal to the human sense of wonder by creating loud/beautiful/obnoxious/vibrant/insane clothing.
We’ll be using a new printing technology called ‘Sublimation’ that allows printing on every inch of the shirt, in extremely saturated colors, eg: http://imgur.com/a/G2V90
The other side of the mission is to support artists. The shirts will all be original art from independent artists. 30% of profit goes straight to the you, which will be about $8 per shirt. Each artist will also have a detailed profile on the website with bio, gallery & links back to their own sites, Deviant profile, facebook page, etc.
Here’s the splash page that I created with some sample designs I grabbed off of DeviantArt and one of my own (on the right): http://ravenectar.com
If you’re interested in being a part of this or have any questions, let me know! I’m looking for just 3 artists & 3 designs for the launch.
- You can email designs/ideas/portfolios to jordan[AT]ravenectar.com
- Checkout the template for the shirt here: http://www.mediafire.com/?97nx838jr98wrac
- Get a feel for what kind of designs I’m looking for with my DeviantArt favorites: http://jetlej.deviantart.com/favourites/

I’ll try to think of some cool designs and maybe sketch one up in my free time. I don’t have any tools to work with other than pen and pencil, and maybe some coloring pencils for the basic idea for the color schemes, but if I find the time and energy, I’d love to!
@snowcrash, Ooh I especially like 4, 29 and 31. The only thing is that they look a bit unpolished compared to designs like this: http://www.threyda.com/artandgoods/printoftheweek.html. I want each of these shirts to be absolutely breathtaking. If you think you can put in the time to expand one of these fractals to have detail like that, I’d love to have you onboard!
@jordan, I’m interested in the idea too since I am on the verge of doing t-shirt printing myself. How would i submit a design? I have quite a few designs which are mandalas/fractals. I suppose I could upload some of pics in the photo section but this may not be the right place.
@jordan, Yeah, I could. I don’t think I could compete (time-wise) with graphic artists though for a fully detailed shirt…
Ehh.. I’ll give it a go tonight, something large scale, drawn quickly, add some color, depth, detail… let me know if you FEEL it or not. I always thought it would be cool to have a photoshopper color my work, though. I would totally do it myself but photoshop is a pain in the ass to pay for.
@jordan, Cool would love to work on one some more for t-shirts. All the ones one deviant art are only 1000×1000, the originals are 5000×5000 which can be zoomed in on quite a bit. Even at six gigs of ram though I run out of memory on most of these… Will give it a shot anyway. Nice link, some awesome work there!
I’ve been wanting to see this shirt for a while. A black and white colored man wearing a suit with a tv for a head. He shoots himself in his 90s television set skull, unleashing an array of beautiful colors. Butterflies, grape vines, just an explosion of beautiful energy colors and figures.
I am a decent sketch artist but I have a tough time getting what I have in my head on paper. If anybody could draw this it would be super awesome and make for an incredible shirt.
