China vs. Folk band
So I’m at a crossroad that gives me two different outcomes. I have a friend living/going to school in China and she loves it. She has asked me to move in with her and attend college there but I’m already going to college in the states. My school really doesn’t offer a study abroad program and I would probably have to start over in my undergraduate classes. Now i love EXPERIENCE but I recently started a band known as “Today’s Catch”. It’s an acoustic folk rock band that has a chance to get recognized with my recent connections through festivals/music associations. I’m not looking to get famous but it would be nice to have a solid fan base. If I leave I’m deserting the band but in doing so I”m immersion into a new culture and life. I know that the choice will be clear when that time comes but it would be nice to hear some views on living in a foreign country or making music the number one priority. Also, if anyone has any useful information about getting started/finding work/attending college in a foreign country it would be much appreciated.
@mercurial, thanks and in the end the choice is mine alone. The actualities are clear to me but my mind is in disarray because perhaps this could be my chief decision in my life. I’m not looking for a show of hands on making my decision. I’m just clearing up the road by discussing matters that are baffling me. Understanding my true passions is what is going to make me happy in life and I’m not going to oppose my feelings. Like I said earlier I’m at a crossroad that will become clear to me but at this point I just want to converse concepts with others.
@mercurial, He has amazing form and a keen sense of his surroundings.ha hilarious. I can only hope i meet a sensei as talented as Mr. Dragonfly Jones. I totally agree with you about the attractiveness but the girl I’m talking about is Russian. We went to high school together and became close. It’s been about 2 years since then but we talk via Skype all the time. America is pretty much owned by the Chinese and since China exports goods to the U.S and doesn’t really import American products we can only hope that our government doesn’t try to solve the debt crisis with printing more money that would cause even higher inflation. For some reason we are now printing new $2 bills. Why? At least I have Obamacare if I get a papercut on this newly printed money. That saying “if you can’t beat them, join them” seems like a nice solution if i move there.
I think that you shouldn’t let the opportunity drift by by not doing anything, you should give yourself a deadline and make the decision by then.
