Cold Shower Challenge!
| Alex Eastman
I just read all of the 50 life tips That Jordan made, and I found this one to be one that I could do. I am going to try to only take cold showers for 30 days. |

| Robyn
I’ve been taking cold showers for the past four days since my skin has been dry and I’m already noticing better results! Therefore I’m going to take on your challenge and attempt to go for 30 days.. or as long as I last :) |

About to shower, I’ll give it a go. I especially liked the 100 pushups challenge mentioned in the article, I’m trying that one out as well. |

I’ve been doing them for about 10 days and I’ve seen a huge difference in my complexion. I’ve suffered from rosacea around my nose for a few years now and these cold showers have pretty much eradicated any trace of it. Plus I love the feeling of stepping into the cold water and thinking ‘OH YEA, that’s right’ haha |

Every time I am stuck with a cold shower I set a new personal shower time record… |
|

is there any/more chance of catching a cold by having cold showers every day? does hot water clean you better than cold? |

I’ve been doing cold showers for 7 days now and I really enjoy them. Doing them 2-3 times a day. First it was pretty unpleasant but not i feel great during and after the shower. Really makes a difference. I feel much better now. For example, today I was feeling very weak, like I had no energy in my body. I knew what i had to do. Take a cold shower. After that, I was great and full of energy. |

It’s on! 30 days starting… now! |

I’ve been taking cold showers lately and they are awesome! Great way to begin and end the day. It surprises me how great it feels afterwards. |

i don’t smoke.. rarely drink.. don’t do drugs… i exercise & eat healthily… but no-one, repeat, noone, will take my steaming-hot shower away from me in the morning. it is my sun that rises to wake me from zombiehoodness (wow alexa, i have that zombie-thing too — i just never realized because my brain is off until the shower :D ), my affirmation of life towards me that it loves me, and my self-confirmation that if nothing else unhealthy, i can wear down my skin’s protective layer down to only what boiling water-soap-mixture won’t sweep away. so a wholeharted suck my warmly showered &*$ to the cold-water-tap in my shower cabin! [but then... maybe 2 degrees colder tomorrow... just to see what happens... =] take care folks! |

While someone can see this as a group challenge where they can beat others, I see it as a personal one with a reward of healthier and stronger body. That gives me enough strength to jump into cold shower. Be cool ;) |
| Ramo
@Zon, I believe it is a myth that being in a cold environment has anything to do with catching a cold. What’s more, according to this source, taking cold showers even stimulates the immune system. |

@Davor/everyone: don’t make this a group challenge, i would win, i’ve been taking cold showers for over a year and a half now. though u might say i’ve been cheating, since i have no option, living in a third world country. If any one wants to try and up the challenge take a bucket of cold water (no bigger than 5 gallons, i use about a gallon/gallon and a half when my water isn’t working)and use that to wash. my friends that do that regularly tell me they will never take a running water shower again. as far as warm vs. cold, on the rare occation (twice to be exact, when i have been able to get warm water for bathing) i have found that at the end of the day a warm shower gets me cleaner, but the cold is better in the morning. if i had the option i would always have cold morning showers to wake me up and take warm ones in the evening, right befor bed, to clean me and get me ready for sleep. |

@ Ramo, thanks for that link haha. The art of manliness indeed. Good stuff. |

This challenge is easier said than done… I have to hype myself and start playing the Rocky theme song just to find the motivation to get in the water; I can understand why testosterone is increased, this is some manly stuff… or I’m just a pussy. haha. Day 1 and my ego has shrunk drastically (among other things)… it is exhilarating though, only 29 more to go. |

| Em
@Dustin– Rocky theme song- awesome idea! |
