Cold Shower Challenge!
| Michael
I was skeptical at first but I’ve just had my second cold shower today after a workout and it felt great. It’s a shock at first for sure, but I don’t doubt I’ll get used to it in a little while. Wakes me up and pumps me full of energy, very fun. |

OK I’m in. I will have to use the “ready GO” system, where you don’t take any time getting set. that’s where delays happen (1, 2, 3 . . . wait I’ll go on 5 . . .) |

From my experience, it’s a lot easier transitioning to cold showers by starting the shower out hot for a minute or two… get used to it, then slowly adjust the knob until it’s cold. It definitely doesn’t shock my body as much as going straight into the cold, and since the majority of the shower is in cold water anyways the benefits are still there. |

@Em, I’m talking JUST the cold water knob but my “cold” water could actually be slightly warmer than the “cold” water of somebody else because it’s summer here. I guess it would be fair to check how cold the “cold” water really is and post it up here so we can compare. @Davor, Well the only thing I know about the downside of cold showers is that in the beginning you can get a headache quite quickly if you keep your head under the cold water for too long. |

@Zon If you shower in the winter with cold water, maybe. |

OK… So I’m kind of in love with my scalding showers, but what’s the worst that can happen. You’re on Alex! |

Day 1: Honestly it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be… makes for shorter showers & less daydreaming about nothing. |

Anytime Em… us girls have to stick together, lol. ‘getting strong now, wont be long now, getting strong now’… haha, the lyrics are horrible, yet sooo inspirational. “gonna fly now, getting high now” haha, omg. The real inspiration to hurry up in the shower is to turn this song off :) Seriously though, I think this challenge is well worth the effort… Besides the whole skin thing, it forces me into the chilling moment and does not let you ignore the present. We can all practice now, when the winter comes we can step it up a level. |

i have found standing directly under the shower right when u turn it on is the easiest way, instead of haveing the water running and then trying to get in. like jumping in a cold pool vs. easing in. |
| Em
Yeah there is no denying the present!! I could slit someone’s throat with my nips ha! I’m down for doing it again in the winter.. geez that’ll be painful :) I feel so much more awake though–thanks for posting this challenge Alex :) |

Try this… when get in the shower and say to yourself, first: ‘This isn’t going to bother me at all’ , very camly get in and say ‘this doesn’t bother me at all’ , try to avoid all the cringing and psycic yourself out, cause then when you jump in your almost freaking out lol .. just concentrate on how your nerves feel, tell yourself it’s just a feeling, not cold.. I’m only on day 3 now lol.. or you could cheat and not make the water freezing! :) |

One downside to these showers is that your dicks shrinks but don’t worry, it won’t last ;) |

Yeah, that a nasty temporary downside. :D Because I start taking cold showers before this 30 day challenge, i will keep taking them after my 30 days expires. All started when i discovered HE. :) Love this place ;) |

Omg…. So. I showered. Cold. And I literally laughed, lol. And thought of all of you. It was fun. Exhilirating. I could not KEEP doing it, for like, life, you know, sorry, but my curly hair needs warm wetness to absorb moisture. However, for my body, and my rinse off, I could see using cold water more often. I enjoyed it. |

ever since i read that article i’ve been taking only cold showers – it feels incredible and after a few weeks of it the cold becomes less unbearable and i’m beginning to rather enjoy it! :D |

I actually just tried this as well! I now find myself taking fewer showers because of it haha however when I do take the plunge into that cold stream of water I instantly feel refreshed and completely alive…. sometimes you just need to jump right in! |

I just took my first cold shower… maybe a little too cold. I was having to take very short sharp breaths; it’s over 30 deg. Celsius ATM so quite a temperature shock. Will attempt another tomorrow :) |
|
| Em
@Gaz–that’s how my breathing is too! |
|
| Ramo
Em, don’t do that. I mean I visualize everything…man..just don’t do that XD. Anyhow, you’re supposed to go cold during the first minute, just don’t get out of the shower before you notice that you’re body is warming itself up again because that’s sort of the point. I do notice that after a cold shower I feel more refreshed but slightly less clean. I guess starting of warm and finishing cold would be ideal in that respect but still, the shock would be greater I guess. My skin is getting better and better though. |
