@mindfuck, Well I am not a doctor but it is a normal reaction from your body (increase of heartbeat) to a ‘surprise’ reaction from the cold water touching your warm body. I do not know if and how harmful it can be for somebody with heart problems to take cold showers like that, but you could inquire your doctor if it can do any harm to you.
I never experienced these kind of pains while having cold showers, only shivering from my body or pain on my head because of the extremely cold water.

Just out of curiosity has anyone had any problems with sleep ? I started this 7 days ago and ever since I can’t get more than 2-3 hours of sleep & normally I sleep right through.
I even took some valarian root (good for sleeping) and smoked a bowl the past two days.
it’s weird though i never feel tired before/after sleep.

Already more than a year that I have been taking cold showers, time flies! Although I have spent a lot of time in countries with subtropic temperatures, and cold showers are not as challenging as back in Europe, I really love the challenge.
My shower lengths have decreased and I feel so much fresher after I have taken a shower. I had a few warm showers, and a few warm baths. The baths were delightful, but the warm showers felt strange, very strange!
