So I’ve been studying like crazy, and doing other stuff like working out or writing/drawing etc.
But sometimes I realize I should take a time to just relax and turn off my mind, such as watching stupid videos and such. But I don’t like tv at all. Internet just bores me, etc. Reading can also count as an intellective task so I think I need something lighter.
Anyway. Those are my thoughts as of right now, but I had to come with this: all of you guys trying your best to better yourselves or reach some kind of greatness by learning and practicing skills: do you take your time to just turn off your mind and laugh about something plain stupid?
Socializing and drinking are basically the things that i use to turn my mind off. Even being on the internet only softens the mental noise, you know? I can get pretty distracted playing video games with my best friend from back home and I can get totally out of my mind while drinking, but other than that I usually am always thinking about something.
Music helps with actually making some mental headway, though. It allows for the solitude to be pretty profitable instead of burdensome.
My problem is that I can still continue that mental chatter at the same time as doing those other things. Docs call it ADD idk what is is but I find it extremely difficult to shut my mind up I matter what I’m doing. And yes I do practice meditation.
