@anniec, It is probably temporary saved by your browser’s cache (on certain pages). Try to refresh a couple of times. If it’s searchable in google, I don’t think you can get it off the web anymore. |

@Martijn Schirp, maybe it is an idea to make this topic sticky? in this way all the new members will see it as well and it will not disappear into the next pages. |

^^That… Also, do mention on this list, how to mention people. I for one am having a hard time doing that. if the person i am replying to is on the same page of the discussion its fine… but what if they are on a previous page, or not in the discussion at all, and i wanna call their attention to the post, how do i use the @function then? like how @Martijn Schirp, just did there mentioning all our moderators… |

@vishnu, yes I agree, how can we do that? |

I always reply on the same page, then copy what pops up. Jordan and I are thinking of a solution to make it easier/better. (and don’t forget, it’s already a huge improvement from 2.0!) |

@Martijn Schirp, true that, we should not forget the positive things. But then on the other hand, we are simple human beings who need to complain about something constantly. PS: I still do not get any notifications if somebody mentions me like you just did Martijn. Not in my e-mail nor in my notification center of HE. This changed 1/2 weeks ago, because before that (with the new HE) I did get the notifications.@Martijn Schirp, |

@Filip, Yes, Jordan and I thought you were posting too much so we cancelled your notifications. |

Some of the moderators are missing on your list – also your and Jordan’s surnames are reapeated a couple times – i’m guessing this is not intentional Haha :D |

@mercurial, you are not the only one that has mentioned this, nor are you the only one that has a concern for this type of activity clouding the demeanor intended for the site. Here is your arsenal: don’t post in it. The beauty of threads that you deem inappropriate is that you can choose actively NOT to support them. Boycotting works, and if you are right in your opinion, you will likely see other users abstaining from posting as well. If ever you see posts that are blatantly inappropriate, as outlined in this FAQ, seek a moderator (Hi, my name is @lytning91) and the issue will be dealt with quickly. I, for one, am daily on this site, so response is 24 hr at most from me. |

@xyver, Unfortunately this is not possible. @mercurial, I think we have to rely on the autonomos aspect of each individual here. It’s impossible to govern everyones behaviour from top down, and we prefer it from bottom up. :) |

@mercurial, Hehe, cmon man, dont be nitpicking now…. I dunno if this would amaze you, but this site runs on WordPress. that’s something i guess. When we got upgraded from the previous version of HE into this one, that is HE 3.0, we had to make do with a lot of things. like, each member had a wall in the earlier version showing all public messages, and we lost all data in the upgrade. all our favourited discussions from HE 2.0 could not be retrieved when the upgrade happened. So, the vocab problem is not a big deal really… the number of people working on developing this site is just a handful, i think, unlike other ‘social network’ giants, so im just grateful that HE is what it is now. |

@mercurial, there is no need to worry about the disappearing/appearing edits. The system’s cache features are what make it so screwy. This is the same for our profile pictures, only with the posts, the caching of pre-edit posts doesn’t last for very long. |

@mercurial, Maybe it does….but…I urge you to consider the bigness of this deal ;) I mean, just go find that Official HE 3.0 discussion thread and put it in there and tag Jordan. He will get a look at it eventually. |

@mercurial, I feel you. I appreciate it and I also do the same types of things. I was saying you’d get feedback if you put it in the aforementioned thread and tagged Jordan. I don’t have keys to the car, just keys to the house. |

@mercurial, Not that I am aware of. I take screen shots if I am even slightly concerned with their needing to be some evidence of something. I am not 100% certain, though, and there MAY be some way of having an admin go in and search for the deleted material. |

@mercurial, this means that someone with the ability to do so (i.e. a moderator) has “stuck” the thread. This doesn’t seem to do that great a job, because sometimes it won’t actually stay. It also can be used to send a thread to the top of the feed without someone having commented in it. |
