First time ecstasy use
I’m going to try ecstasy soon and I’m psyched about it! I’m mainly wondering where I should try it. I’ve been going to a lot of bonfires lately so that is a possibility. Maybe a music festival even? Surprisingly most of my friends just stick to pot and alcohol so I can’t really get a group of people together to join me but maybe I could find one or two others. I’m not really looking for anything in particular but any advice/suggestions?
You’ll need at least one other person, and maybe a baby sitter if you’re a rough tripper, go to a public park, or even your backyard, somewhere with grass, listen to music, have fun.
have fun my friend.
I also vote molly over x. X pills are a no go these days. And molly is finally available wide scale again, so aim for quality.
The best environment: a RAVE, with your closest friends.
Create your own rave! Its a Radical.Audio.Visual.Experience.
Also, try to get a really heavy indica for the next day. It helps alot with the comedown. Dont smoke it while ur rolling though, its a waste and youl regret it if u feel shitty the next day.
It should also be noted that with the proper vitamin regamine before during and after your experience, you can minimize negative effects, an maxamize positive effects.
But reallyit unnessasary if you keep the doses reasonable. Mdma is somehing that is best enjoyed in moderation. If you overdue it, the positive effects level off while the negative become more prominate.
But ya, compile all your favorite music together, get a blacklight, strobe light, and glowsticks to draw streams with if you spend your experience inside.
If you go outside, depending on your local climate, hydration could ne an issue. Make sure u stay nice n watered up.
If you haven’t seen the movie ROLLING, check it out at rollingmovie.com
I’d really encourage you to do this with another person who has already done it. Having someone with experience will put you at ease and that’s important.
I agree with what everyone said here about music. MUSIC MAKES THE EXPERIENCE as much as having amazing friends with you. If possible, I’d wait to do it at a massive (large rave), as long as absolutely can go with people who have rolled before. The rave/rolling experience is insanely magical and makes everything else pale in comparison. Whatever you do, plan ahead so it will be magical, there is nothing like your first time…. make it special.
Molly is cool but it’s not x, the intensity is missing that makes x so special. The trick is to get good x, and that can be challenging for sure, but not impossible by any means. I’d really encourage you to buy a test kit from the non-profit DanceSafe.org. The saddest thing is when someone tries bad x for the first time and think that x sucks, when the reality is they took bad stuff. Seeing the test results, KNOWING you have good x your first time, is just going to make your experience that much better.
Finally, water is important but this is where you need an experienced friend. While you can OD on x by taking a stupid amount that you’d have no need to take, the people who die from x almost always do because they DRINK TO MUCH WATER. Yep, water can kill you. And when you are on certain kinds of x, you don’t feel any need to go to the bathroom even after drinking a lot of water, so you can just keep drinking and that’s dangerous. Having an experienced friend watching out for you helps and knowing ahead of time that you want to only drink 2-3 bottles of water during the roll is good too.
Wishing you a magical experience! I remember thinking during my first roll that if there is a heaven, this must be what it feels like =)
go to a rave/concert. you’ll have a much better time if you’re surrounded with other people that are also rolling, because you’ll have an urge to be extremely sociable and you’ll feel more “connected” with them if you’re both rolling. the music is also reallllyyyyy helpful because you’re going to want to be constantly moving, and dancing is super fun, especially with heavy bass drops. the music will fill up your entire body and you’ll just feel it. the lights will also completely encompass you.
with me, i have to do something with my hands constantly. at spencer’s you can purchase a 100 piece glow stick pack for like $12 and it comes with the pieces to make a glowstick ball that spins. i’m sure you could get them somewhere else, though. i have one of these every time i go to a rave.
make sure you have plenty of water because if not, you’ll get incredibly dehydrated. juice also helps keep you hydrated, and vitamin c makes it more intense. use molly in moderation because if not, your body will have depleted serotonin and you will become depressed and anxious. rolling should be a seldom thing. 5-HTP is a vitamin that is made from one of the ingredients in molly that comes from a tree in africa. it will help keep your mood up and your body boosted when coming down.
@michellejoy, I would advise you to think twice about that decision. That shit is made by scumbags and sometimes a batch goes terribly wrong. A few people around where I live died from a bad batch last year. Think before you do that shit it’s terrible for you.
I agree with the people saying to go to a rave/concert/festival. The experience will be so much better! Be with friends and let do not do too much at once. Dependent of the pills, I would say start with half a pill and wait at least 1 tot 2 hours before taking more (if you have 180mg pills, take half at most). Do not expect too much from it, just let it come as it comes. Only take it when you are in a positive mood though, if you feel stressed and or anxious about taking it (you do not have to be, do not worry), then I would advise you to pass this time.
Good luck and enjoy!
@michellejoy, Orange Juice!
@michellejoy, I’ve done ecstasy twice. My first time was at a friends house and it was great. I was with my step brother, another girl, and another guy. I loved the expirience, but I didn’t like some parts of it. It made me super thirsty but I felt like if I took a drink, I’d drown! My clothes were incredibly irritating too, be sure to wear something comfy (: ..everything in the whole world was fascinating. The grass was so soft and I just wanted to roll around in it! (lol) everything anybody said to me felt like a compliment, and none of us could stop smiling. We told each other our most personal secrets, some of the stories were terrible, things that would normally make you want to cry, but instead of having a negative response to what we had to say it was more like “I’m glad you can trust me enough to tell me that (which was a confidence boost, it’s great to feel trusted) and I’ll always be here for you!” it was very loving. The second time was actually at a bonfire. The fire was so bright and everything everyone would say to me was so loud, everything was just so interesting! We listened to scatman John while rolling and it gave me this crazy uplifting happy feeling. All night music was blasting and every song just made me feel like I was in anothe world (: it’s a great time, just don’t over use the drug, it can be harmful. Be with people when you do it too!
I realize I’m a lil late on this post, but if it still means anything, first of all be in a comfortable environment when you try it. And fck listening to rave music if that’s not your thing. What will make you the happiest is the music you enjoy. I personally would take it at a show (concert), but if it’s your first time I think you might wanna just dick around at a chill spot.
interesting that you felt like you were drowning, @kaelyberanek. when i was rolling for the first time ever, water tasted and looked incredible! i could see like, fractions of light inside of it and it almost appeared rainbow-y? and it tasted sweet.
Why you took this decision of trying this drug?
There are videos on YouTube of people on x… Hilarious, but pathetic.
@prittii, ARE YOU SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE?
Oh yeah – you’re not. Thanks for not contributing.
Unfortunately it’s from personal experience.
@prittii, You know I pretty much agree with you. I mean it feels great rolling when your not all crazy like the cats in the video posted but really all the bonds you feel are all fake as you said its like a shortcut for trying to bond with people or something. I’m not quite sure what it is but something about it im just not fond of.
Thanks so much for all the advice, it’ll definitely be used! After consideration, I think I’m going to find a rave and a few cool people to go with. Although I have never been to a rave as well so it may be overwhelming? But I don’t mind, I love dancing and electronic music of all sorts. Idk I just think I’d feel really comfortable.
Also, I should have made it clear in this post that when I said I was looking for advice and suggestions, I did not mean anything against trying it. The decision has already been made and is a well informed one. Thank you for the concern, but I am fully aware of these things. @prittii
@splashartist, I am actually going to follow@namastevegas‘ advice and test it at dancesafe.org to make sure it’s good. My first time with lucy was a huge let down because we ended up with some bad shit.
another thing i would like to point out to you is to prepare yourself for the psychological after effects… some people experience a gloomy, melancholic feeling for some time after the use and if you are prone to depression you might want to consider taking some steps towards minimizing the negative effects… try to get some 5-htp, its a legal food supplement and can help you to ease the serotonine related impact after taking mdma.
(quote on erowid about 5-htp: “….there is another reason for MDMA users to take 5-HTP. MDMA may cause serotonin depletion, and taking 5-HTP in the days AFTER MDMA use may help re-build serotonin levels and may reduce the post-MDMA depression some people experience. Many users report that taking 5-HTP after Ecstasy use noticeably reduces the depression they experience in the days after….” )
i am not telling you that you surely will feel this effects but i think its better to know whats could be causing this feelings rather tham thinking it is a “real” depression you are experiencing… its just temporary and its a biochemical process that is gonna be over after some time… dont let yourself trick you into believing that it is anything else…
having said all this i also want to add that a good experience with mdma can be life-changing and can show you how happy you can feel which lasts much longer than the actual effects of the drug. there is even some research and therapy being done with this substance and it can have a high therapeutical value.
just dont make the mistake to do it more often than it can be useful, if you do it too often the negative effects will be more prevalent than the desired effects could be…
i wish you all the best, be safe, enjoy and know what you will be doing!
@sebasitan, thanks a lot! I have read through erowid and I have read about the after effects as well. I actually just went out and bought some 5-HTP the other day when I stumbled across people talking about it so I’m set with that. It’ll help for me to keep in mind that the after-gloom happens to almost everyone and is just how it works.
The feelings you feel on these drugs are as real or fake as you want them to be.
If you consider them fake you are doing yourself a huge disfavor.
@ijesuschrist, The feelings are real but how they are evoked is fake, as in not natural: you need an external substance in order to evoke them
@filipek, i don’t distinguish between fake and real emotions. Where do you draw the line?
Is it fake ambition when you drink coffee? Is it fake healthiness when you eat good food and thus release endorphins / tryptophan?
How can an emotion or action you create be any more “fake” than any other emotion? You are constantly being subjected to all types of chemicals in your day. You’re brain is incredibly dynamic, and equilibrium is impossible. To make the claim that drugs cause fake evocations or fake emotions is a bit limited in my perspective.
Is it fake happiness to smell the flowers?
Its romanticizing a fallacy that sober life is drug-free. If you believe it is, then your definition of drug is not logically sound… Ask yourself where you draw the line.
@ijesuschrist, I did not say that those emotions are fake, on the contrary, those emotions are as real as they could be.
It is not fake emotion when you drink coffee and or eat healthy, because those substances do not directly increase the release of certain hormones (serotonin, dopamin etc.). However, MDMA does do this. This is the main difference for me. If it would not be like this, then why are drugs forbidden in top sport? When it would be like you are saying, then drugs in top sport would have to be as illegal as cheese and meat should be, right?
Once again, I did not say that those emotions and/or actions are fake, but the means by which they are evoked are ‘fake’ non natural ways. I tihnk you misunderstood what I said.
