@cogito, Offending people by calling them names and denigrating them. Then denying it with twisted reasons. Then obviously behaviour ment to provoke me and some others. So I gave him a fair warning. But he continued, and there was no reasonable way to discuss it with him. Which is unfortunate, because while I didn’t like him as a person (one of the few here?) I like what he brought about in apeople. |

wait… manimal’s gone?!? it’s true, i never liked the way he was either, but that didn’t matter as long as his ideas where as good as they were! but yeah definitely the way he said them was just…. sickening, like “uughh dude why must he say it like that?? but he does have a point…” |

You guys are all fucking idiots. I liked when manimal said stuff like that. Society still has me held, it’s how I know I’m dumb. |

hi, i have been getting a few emails from the manimal, as we exchanged adresseses a while ago. it seems he has headed off into the russian tundra, and is meditating in a cave. or at least that is what he told me. i heard from him about two weeks ago, he had come back to sweden for his dads birthday. |

why exactly was he banned and was it permanent? much like everyone else, i enjoyed reading what he had to say even though sometimes i strongly disagreed. |

Manimal was doing some pretty nasty stuff, he wasn’t banned just because of the way he said things. |

I was a completely different person when I first came on here. Many people have played a part in my transformation, Ellie, the General, Jay, stonedragon, Alex, and many more. I found Manimal crass and insensitive, but I realized he does not tiptoe around shit he just drops bombs. Few can really grasp his mind set, when you think you are(were) on line with his way and that he would like what you post BOOM!!! he hits you with rebuttals. I miss that guy. |

One thing that has me a bit puzzled is the general reaction to Manimal. People would get all up in arms about his statements and his approach toward things…a lot of people. There have been full on Manimal bashing sessions. What puzzles me is why those people care. If someone is being an idiot, how is that your problem? Why would you let it affect you? |

@dick, Of course you are right. But there is a difference between acting like an idiot and intentionally manipulating people, and by definition, that will be a problem. |

I agree with you Martijn – I don’t know Manimal outside of HE but sometimes he struck me as plain arrogant. Even though a lot of the things he said were probably true or at least had som reflection value to them, he had a very offensive and “better knowing” way of shoving them at people, sometimes it was as if he just wanted you to know that sure, you could have your opinions as long as you remembered that his were better. Maybe he’s really intelligent, or maybe he just wants to seem that way. (neckbeard?) Either way he came across as less than humble, and I didn’t think he seemed to respect the others. So to me it makes sense that he was banned, although he was a big part of the old HE. |

I hated Manimal at first, then he grew on me when I learned a lesson(partially from him, I hate to admit) about taking things personally. I always disliked his negative approach and need to call people names, but I guess his intention was to get people to listen and it sure as hell worked. @dick, lmfao at your “instant retard theory”. |

this thread seems ridiculous to me. I never liked Manimal, he approached everything as if he was obviously correct and was sure he had the answers, and if you didn’t see it how he did you were an idiot. No place for someone like that in my life, but apparently helped some people so to each their own. I don’t think he embodied what the site is really about, but as others have said it’s up to us how we react. “How people treat you is their karma, how you react is yours.” |

@smalls, That’s funny, I wondered the same thing about those two at first :) |

@tangledupinplaid21, I can say I have learned the same thing from you. I am a very emotionally sensitive person so things people say can bug me easily then one day I remembered what manimal said and it occurred to me that I don’t have to dwell on these things. He really knows his stuff. I’m not trying to put him up on a pedestal, but only give him credit where it is deserved. |

So Manimal isn’t coming back? I think its a little bit unfair if that is true because he obviously made such a big impression on this site. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have looked at the site that much without him, I read his posts, just like everyone elses, and in my eyes to take him out of the picture is to censor what this site is about. Without everyone getting to post what they want to post we cant actually see what everyone wants us to and it seems unfair to me. No one was forced to read his posts, a lot of the posts had incredibly valuable information, and if someone on the internet makes you mad is that really such a big deal? There’s a quote that says something about people hate things about others that they lack themselves… or something like that. I feel that that quote relates here at least a little bit. Why not ban people who don’t say anything and just waste space on here? Why ban a person that was turning into a “leader” if you will, on the site. This discussion wouldn’t be here if a lot of people didn’t want him back. |

Some opinions and ideas aren’t welcome to all people. Big deal. |
