Whats up HEthens!
I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for around 7 years now. I am more of a finger picker than a strummer and wanted to learn some new songs. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What’s your skill level and what kind of music are you into? Anyway, I recommend the following songs, they’re not hard but very nice and classical sounding.

Nightmare’s beginning, by Nobuo Uematsu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXjOLzDTpck

To Zanarkand, by Nobuo Uematsu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33U99DokD_U

The Led Zeppelin songs are awesome but might go beyond my skill level. Hopefully I’ll be able to learn them further down the road.

I really liked the second link you posted, Manimal. I should have no problem learning that one and it does have a really nice sound.

The typical songs that I have learned are by the Ben Harper, Kansas, The Beatles, Tommy Emmanuel, and others.

Thanks for the suggestions

Check out these songs by Opeth, they aren’t too hard either:

In my time of need – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x6YclsLHN0

Hope leaves – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3e6G_YNO0Y

The last one is my favourite song to play. Especially the chorus.

Look up “All for you” by Sister Hazel. Its all just chords, but if you want to learn to sing and play, its a great song! and it has frequent chord changes.

If you’re looking into finger picking, Flamenco is the way to go… I recommend “Wedding Waltz” by Frédéric Mesnier. This piece utilizes difficult finger picking scales and is challenging. I’ve been playing for two years or so and this is one of the hardest songs I’ve played. You can search this song title on this site called songsterr for the guitar tabs.
