I’m on my second run through “THE TAO OF WU” By The Legendary RZA

I thought i’d just stop by HE and drop jewels, 12 mental jewels that is. These are principles of life, it is said that the jewels -once obtained- will give you everlasting wealth, and change the way you live life F O R E V E R.

It’s a matter of looking at the what’s, where’s, and why’s, bringing forth a universal plan that tells us the background of the backgrounds. (If that makes sense).

These 12 jewels help us understand so that we may over achieve.

1* Knowledge – Knowledge of self or particular situation
2* Wisdom – Reflection of that knowledge
3* Understanding – The power to act on wisdom
4* Freedom – Free will or as RZA would say “Freeing” your “Dome” from ignorance
5* Justice – Having a reward or penalty for your actions
6* Equality – Fact of being equal, having the same value
7* Food – Food for thought, mental knowledge or mental wealth
8* Clothing – Mental clothing, the way one carry’s himself
9* Shelter – Mental shelter, protection from the evil atmosphere, surrounding lies and deceit

Pretty simple listing right? You’re probably saying “but you only listed 9″ these first nine must be addressed before the last three can even be mentioned. But the beauty is the jewels all flow like water, one linking to the next, gradually making more sense and creating a river of knowledge as you reach 12.

Elevate your minds, above or under the influence, these are the last days of 2012… nobody’s telling.

Picture a young man at a new-years party, he’s having a couple of drinks with his boys, there’s music, people in holiday cheer, it’s officially a turn up & the night is smooth. (we’ll go with a typical encounter) then in walks a beautiful woman, damn near flawless skin, plush lips, a great body that is practically worshipped; dazed over by whoever passes, and eyes that make men fall at her will. Now you’re probably wondering what this has to do with mental jewels but i am about to give you a breakdown of a common situation and how these diamonds fit right in.

The guy (who i’ve now named Cal) , somewhat buzzed now from the drinks, has his mojo on his sleeve and is contemplating on if and how he should approach the woman. (Pause) We just applied the first two, The knowledge is the realization of the woman walking into the party, the wisdom is Cal realizing the knowledge and creating a pool of choices and actions in his mind to call on, which in this case is wether or not he will be approaching this woman, and if he is how he’ll be approaching her. So he decides he will approach, he sits his drink down and stands to walk and meet her. In his mind he already did the wisdom and figured he would approach her with a confident, and slightly cocky attitude but still a gentleman. He walks to the woman who now is sitting down with a glass of light alcohol, she has a look of anticipation on her face.

Cal: Hey, excuse me, is this seat taken? (pointing to the chair next to her)

Woman: No, no, it’s not.

(Cal takes a seat)

Cal: Good choice in wine, they say light wine is the best alcohol a woman can drink.

Woman: So i’ve heard, i’m not really into dark liquors anymore.

Cal: Bad experience?

Woman: They just make me feel like i’m going a little overboard.

Cal: Overboard like… this? (Cal rubs his hand near the womans inner thigh)

(The woman slaps the shit out of him and throws her drink in his face without second thought, she storms out and Cal is left drenched and charlie murphy’d)

Now this scenario I figured would show how jewels 3 – 6 would come to life, or bring Cal’s game plan to a fatality, jewel 3 is understanding, and understanding is the power to act on wisdom, where wisdom was Cal’s game plan. So understanding is Cal actually making his thoughts become actions, walking to the woman taking a seat and engaging in a conversation. This rolls him into the freedom stage, jewel number 4 , where he has the free will to offer to re-fill the ladies drink or as we read, slip his hand near her pink-matter. Now I created this fucked up scenario because I wanted to show our 5th jewel; Justice, where we have rewards or penalties for our actions. Obviously Cal’s got him penalized and penalized sporadically, the conversation clearly went from cool to cold in a matter of seconds. But it shows how his free will can drastically affect the justice that comes to him, (Just like how our free-will has and always will drastically affect what comes to us). But since Cal handled the situation the way he did, he can now go no further than jewel 5.

Lets rewind and see if Cal can do this the right way and use his jewels with more respect.

Cal: It’s a good thing the light compliments you well then, Bad Experience?

Woman: Thank you (she shows a bright smile) and no, they just make me feel like i’m going a little overboard you know? Like I can’t carry myself.

Cal: Beautiful and smart, i’m at the right party tonight.

Woman: (She chuckles) What is your name again?

Cal: Names Cal, nice to meet you….

Woman: Erin, with an E.
(Cal puts his hand out and with an intriguing smile Erin shakes Cal’s hand)
