Blackalicious has a positive message (first two songs) and is probably the toughest rapper to match styles with. His lyrical abilities are unlike any rapper/hip-hop artist I’ve heard (next 4 songs) “Making Progress” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnJ0PpdP9MM “Rock the spot” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nZhGxZU6m4 Arguably my favorite rapper – MOS DEF I have a lot more hip-hop/rap artists to recommend – If you like waht I’ve shared so far, please ask for more.. Also, plesae ask for more Blackalicios/Mos Def if you want more recommendations as well |

If you guys ever listen to me, listen to me now and buy this album: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-knewbook/id507609474 or off bandcamp: http://knowmadfam.bandcamp.com/album/the-knewbook It was supposed to be released today but came out last night for the east coasters. I suggest you buy this album, smoke a bowl, put on some headphones, and play it through, listening to every word. ps. don’t torrent it because it deserves the 10 bucks. |

Glad to see Sage in the OP B. Dolan and Scroobius Pip are also worth checking out. They’re both on StrangeFamousRecords as well with Sage Francis. Also B. Dolan hates Justin Timberlake. |

Check out my friend, who I’ve been a fan of for 5 years now, who has a truly original hip hop sound. His name’s Kidd Upstairs. Listen to his music for free: http://www.kiddupstairs.com/p/listen-upstairs.html I also did an exclusive interview with him here, if you’re interested: http://findyourgreatnessdaily.com/2012/12/podcast-2-kidd-upstairs-talented-raphip-hop-artist/ |

This is AWESOME!!! I’m so happy to see that there are people who are jazzed about REAL hip-hop! This song has fed me inspiration day after days since I first heard it. I know hes a “big name” but this dude has soul and knows what inspirational, sophisticated hip-hop is all about Sometimes – Ceelo Green |
