Oh man, I could go off on this topic. Most of my main suggestions have already been said, but I haven’t seen Common Market posted yet. They have a really chill sound, and use a lot of piano and shit. A lot of good hip hop artists coming out of Seattle (Blue Scholars, Macklemore, Common Market, etc).
Also, Aesop Rock probably has the best lyrics I have ever heard from any musician, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Another artist I’m fond of is Akala – he’s a UK conscious rapper, again, he is lyrically magnificent and sending out good messages.
