Religious, atheist, zealot, agnostic, scientist, optimist, pessimist…..hypocrites.
Are we wrong to believe in a God? are we so stupid to devote our lives to someone that you may have never seen or spoken with…. no, there is no evidential proof that he exists, but why can we still not be happy divining our lives into the great divine??
For most people, its either religion, or it’s science. But how can someone be so stupid as to believe in silly childish fairy tales such as religion? especially when science has proven so many of even its basics to be false, right? but then again my friends, how can we be so stupid as to believe in even sillier sounding fairy tales that we have been taught in the classroom since we could tie our own shoes… have any of you ever seen an atom? have any of you every seen a particle, a wave, a molecule, fucking protons?? the fact that we are made of all sorts of little too tiny to see balls of energy and empty space sounds really fucking stupid to me. So how can you scientists claim God to be fake, when none of you have ever seen felt or touched the basic blocks of which everything is supposedly made of.. everyone will always be super optimistic on their beliefs, and will never be afraid to let others know or tell them their opinions and how to live life “the right way.” No matter what their beliefs. just smile and say “cool.”
But if there is one lesson to learn from life, it’s that YOU, everyone on this site, your grandma, your friends, their cousin’s uncles, your dog, my cat, your sister ( tell her hi please) the asians, the french, even kids, and ME… every single one of us.. are all hypocrites.
I believe in God and I study cosmology, but I appreciate your somewhat ignorant input. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard the points you’ve brought up. :o
Isn’t it funny how some people can enjoy a show like The Office but have a pure hatred for actual reality TV shows? While some people can easily watch both? And some can’t stand either?
Maybe because we are all different. Apart of making yourself a better person is tolerance– even for the intolerant. Though you may disagree, you should learn to spread your “wisdom” in a more sensible fashion and others might want to listen to you.
But thank you for trying. Because I know it’s not easy to override your emotions– and you have obviously allowed yourself to become a prisoner of your own feelings. It’s okay. You can and should try again.
I like your avatar, by the way. Calvin and Hobbes are very adorable characters and I have always felt that I had similar qualities to both of them.
Isn’t this called being skeptical to everything? I don’t care what it’s called though. Even talking about this is a waste of fucking time. Just people taking themselves way too seriously.
@jshmedler, I didn’t say I was wise, nor was I trying to make myself out to be. Just expressing the fact that the way you noted things was enough to scare a listener off.
Unless you use words loosely. You should work on that as well.
I didn’t mean to upset you, just pointing out things I noticed~*~*~* :o Carry on, though. You’re doing a fine job of looking like… Well, people I’ve come across and only come across.
oic… my bad… i didnt realize at first that you were one of THOSE types of people. no worries ;) but i did read it again, and again, etc. and i cant really find where im biased… cuz i though i said everything is stupid… but maybe i cant read…. maybe i cant write… ok ok it is a liiiiitle biased, obviously, but mostly because i forgot to add some stuff to the end… and im insensible ,and intolerant…psh, obviously. But like i said i called my own beliefs stupid… and stuck up for your beliefs… which was my main goal seeing as i thiiink your sliiiightly on the minority side of this website, and i was kinda going off another thread talking about smug atheists, so geeeeeeeeeeze woman
but all i ever wanted in life was for veronica to cuuum across me and NOT ONLY cuum across me… baby please come back to me :(
i guess i missed the memo of everyone be mean to joe night
@jshmedler, I feel your pain. Actually there are so many threads about this on HE that it would be just bad if this one gets deleted. You’ll see so many rants if you use the search function. You can even rant there! And there are probably going to be a lot more to come. :) It’s true that we’re all hypocrites at some point. I am raised an Orthodox Christian with the family values that are basically suitable for most Christian religions, I just don’t like all the talking about it, because there really are people who protect them strongly and I don’t have time for their crap. I agree with you and I am thankful that there are still scientists tolerating and pondering about the idea of God and there are religious people who are scientists. The basic question is where do you find hope for living? Everyone is part of human nature. I don’t know what else is needed to be said?
haha my man nothing ever needs to be said. i get what your feelin at now, and your right im sure their are hundreds of rants and posts about it and it will never end and it is a waste of time really. but so is sittin around on your ass all day so what do i got to lose? but my hope for living…. well when it comes to the religious and science aspect of living i think that everything is pretty well off and there aren’t too many problems i mean.. i only have a couple of concerns with religion, mainly numbero uno being i was forced to go to church until i was 18, 2. my little town i grew up in is very religious and prejudice towards what you do , and the third being i feel like religious people have a sense of entitlement towards animals plants and the earth, and arent really doing anything about global problems because they think their savior will eventually. and my concerns with science is that they are always trying to prove people as wrong or less knowing then them. but all and all its not a huuuuge controversy, and who knows… one of the sides is going to find the meaning of life SOOOOOME day(maybe) then we will know who is right
