If society were to collapse, would you harm others to survive? What if others wanted to harm you? What if you witnessed people harming others to survive? Would you try to unite people? Try to spread peace? Do you think people to react as they do in most catastrophe type movies, where they just fight to survive and don’t co-exist. Or is that just Hollywood at work, and people would actually get along and solve problems? I would try to be peaceful and spread peace,up until I can no longer convince someone not to pull the trigger or act violent. I would try to help and resolve others being harmed as well. |

@iambrian, Pop, lock it, drop it. And I don’t mean dancing, buddyyyyy! haha This is a good question, but it’ll only tell you who the person thinks they are. Real fear will show you their instinctual side. |

@boribori90, True, but not for everyone. Some people know themselves well enough and have strong willpower. A lot of people would stick with instincts though. |

@iambrian, Yeah, like Navy SEALS. I disagree, most things just wouldn’t matter and a few things would matter a lot. Anyone who derives power from the current socioeconomic hierarchy wouldn’t have a clue on how to deal with the apocalypse. It would be a stampede of lemmings. Without military intervention, the guy with the gun is a god. He will act like a god. Movies are like bedtime stories for adults, man. There’s a hero, a conflict, a satisfying ending, and some credits so you can go into work tomorrow with something to numb the dull ache. I’ll stop rambling though. To answer your questions: Yes, I would harm others to survive if necessary and especially if they tried to harm me. I would rather hide. I say these things because I’ve seen some people go homeless. That definitely taught them a few things about themselves. |

@iambrian, dont even say youd try to spread the peace. im calling bullshit on that statement. lets be realistic here. everbodys in such a panic, no one would listen and youd probably just get shot or give up in 2 seconds. im gonna be honest with myself, id just fuck it all to hell and become a hermit in the forest, away from the fucked up society. |

I would go to wal mart and take as much canned food as possible, blankets, soap, tents, maybe some guns and knives and drinks and take people I love and go camping for a while, mean while survival of the fittest takes its course. I think spreading peace would just make everyone pissed off that I would be trying to make the situation better when it would be not a decent sight. haha, I duno |

I’d stab a baby with rusty scissors if it saved my family and me. |

@iambrian, I would probably try to unite people, but if certain situations do require me to be cold, I will play the villain and get it done. As precious as life is, an act of inhumanity is sometimes necessary to preserve the whole. Ill try to be the good guy, but the bad guy is sometimes just as important. |

@dominika, People would panic-initially. Panicking is exhausting though, it can’t be maintained for long periods of time and if an apocalypse was to happen it would go on for longer than people can maintain a panicked shoot first and ask questions later type of mindset. Give it a week or two and rational thought would be taking over for most people. The exceptions to that would be either unintelligent or irrational people in the first place and if they’re endangering your group with their behavior, that’s where you might need to be capable of hurting someone else. |

Also, we’re a group animal. If instincts were to take over wouldn’t we naturally try to group up? safety in numbers, that sort of thing. |

I am oldish, so I would probably die within days. Who knows? I have never been tested in that way, but I think I would try to be peaceful but would also kill if I had to in order to survive. At least threaten to kill. But I wonder if it would be worth surviving for me personally. You feel differently when you age. |
