If the time comes…

If martial law is enforced in the United States and if by chance we can’t protect our self alone from our own government do you think we will get help from outside the country? I ask this because our government has done a good job at making Americans look like complete assholes to the other countries.
I want to know how people outside the states feel about what is going on over here and if they have realized what our government has been doing long before what we are now realizing.

@thesesouls, The second amendment was created for this very scenario.

@facets, But already our second amendment may not exist as it used to and even so I’m afraid that even though we have it most people don’t even own guns or know how to even use them and even more so there are still a lot of people that can’t even fathom this stuff is even happening. So if martial law does happen how are we the people supposed to protect our self from a well armed and trained military when we just aren’t one? Germany needed help from Hitler and I believe we may need it also.

@thesesouls, People don’t own guns now because we don’t live in martial law. If martial law were established, I believe the percentage of people who own guns would increase.
Not to mention, our army is made of citizens itself. I don’t think a volunteer army would willingly suppress the people that they have volunteered to defend.

@facets, I’m sorry but I think you fail to realize that the US military is not “volunteer.” No soldier, sailor, airman, or marine can legally choose to just up and quit or to refuse an order, that’s called treason. In addition to that, all service-members are “conditioned” to remain loyal (i.e. obey all “lawful” orders) from day one, I should know as I’m a former brainwashee.

@thesesouls, yes, most people don’t own guns, but think about everyone that does, and most of them have no scruples with using them, teaching other people to use them, and sharing them. Think about the NRA, state/county/city/private militias, former military, gangs, private security personnel, all with their own private arsenal; all of them have family and friends that they’d be willing to kill and die for, don’t you?

You present a fascinating and timely question, and I think the only hope I can offer is to trust in goodwill of true patriots. Or put your faith in the territorial nature of “animals” backed into a corner.

The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre.

– Zappa

I do think there’s a chance of this happening to you guys. Your country isn’t a democracy and is run by a very select few elite rich people. You guys have the illusion of freedom and democracy but any educated person can see what’s really happening. If it was going to happen though it would be something like in V for Vendetta where it’s to ‘protect Americans from Terrorists’ who have infiltrated the entire country. This way the right to bare arms wouldn’t be a problem as half the population would swallow that shit in a heart beat. As for getting help from outside nations I couldn’t see it happening, you have the biggest army and have fucked a lot of people over.

Martial law would only be enforced during a time of great war or revolution. In WWII Great Britain made everything legal so there was technically no crime.

@thesesouls My advice to you: Be thankful for what you have. There are a lot of problems in the US… But at least we have the freedom of speech to discuss these sort of things as well as the technology to access the internet.

Good will always overcome evil.

@facets, Yes I do believe that is a reason most people don’t but the thing is if martial law is established than it is too late because you will than no longer even be able to buy guns and the government has the right, in there eyes not mine, that they can seize all and any weapon.

@aidenblair, I just hope there is enough people like that though. Where I live I know very little people like that at all and even more so more people that don’t even care about owning a gun at all or that we would even need one. I just don’t want it to be too late and I feel it may already be.

@oldschool, That’s my whole point, most Americans are just fucking idiots and treat people like shit, even the ones they love. All I hear is how every nation is getting sick and tired of our shit but were not all like this.

@newworldscholar, I really don’t think we have as much freedom of speech as you think. We have had some protests in my area and police force have come and arrested or made people leave the area if they don’t stop displaying there so called freedom of speech. What convinced me most was that my brother was just telling his friends and family on Facebook that they should vote for Ron Paul, a runner for president that doesn’t fit there plans. Doesn’t sound very harmful right? It’s his freedom of speech right? Well not long after he kept at it the FBI came and confiscated his computer.

@thesesouls, That is terrible to hear about your brothers computer being confiscated. Did the FBI give him any reason behind the investigation? Is there any other reason as to why the FBI might investigate him? I don’t doubt it, I just think that there must be more to it. I don’t see why the FBI would target your brother over one facebook status when people like Alex Jones are broadcasting everyday.

We do live in a police state, I won’t deny that. But at least we have the freedom to have this conversation right now. There are people in other countries who don’t have the technology or the freedom to make any criticisms against their governments. The world is currently in a global depression and tension is running high everywhere in the world. We, as individuals, cannot control these larger forces at play, but we can control ourselves and try to do good with the choices that we do have.

You’re a HEthen, so dig deeper. Why stop at the assumption that America is running itself? Perhaps others will be too busy with thier own problems, deafened by the noise and not hearing our cries for help.

@thesesouls, I disagree. I don’t think the government has done a good job at making Americans look like assholes. I think Americans have done a good job at making Americans look like assholes.

This is happening all over the world. It’s not only an American problem, it’s just happening the fastest and the most visibly in America atm. It needs to kick in to action in America first; to lead the way for all the sheep in other countries who won’t believe that it’s happening anywhere in the world, let alone in their own countries, to wake up. It also needs to happen in America first for it to happen in other countries without them being invaded by America.

Every country will be fighting its own internal war soon enough, only we can’t let those wars remain internal. We have to communicate with each other and take action as a world. People do care what’s happening in America.

You’ll get help from other countries. If you help other countries. Even your stupid politicians figured that out, Americans.
