Intelligent Design for Athiests… huh?
So I have been reading and following The Raelian Movement the past couple months and slowly processing the messages and discussions presented. For those who are not familiar with this movement, it is based around the idea that we -the human species- were created by aliens as sort of a science experiment.
As a semi-intelligent human being, I have had a hard time accepting this rather outlandish idea, but the more I read from Rael, the more I find myself beginning to entertain the possibility that we were in fact created by aliens.
So, as any good HEthen would do, I present this rather bizarre idea to you for discussion/digestion. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

In recognizing the fact that we are, as Carl Sagan so eloquently puts it, “a mote of dust suspended in a sun beam”, I have considered this possibility.
Look at ants for example. Obviously much smaller than us, they are most likely oblivious of our existence, or anything outside their immediate line of vision or cognitive capabilities(if they could be said to have such things). There is an entire world out there that very much effects them, but they are none the wiser.
Zooming into an even more microscopic level, germs and cells, which we place under a microscope to study. They all have their functions, their aims and objectives(namely, survival), but are completely unaware of us. There is an entire universe under your fingernail right now! But do they see outside of themselves? Not likely.
I believe the human species is likely analogous to this. Focused on what is in our immediate line of vision and closed off to what isn’t.(Not saying all are, but a lot wont accept the possibility of something that isn’t irrefutably proven.) I have seen many UFO videos and I’m open to the possibility that they are all “fakes”, or maybe even government crafts that the public has no knowledge of… However, I have a feeling this isn’t the case. Whether we are an experiment or not… it’s impossible to know but plausible and extremely interesting to think about.
