@splashartist,

“I’ll point out some of your flawed thinking maybe to enlighten you a bit. I hate ignorance when it comes to drugs.”

By definition MDMA is pure 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine. It is a euphoric empathogen, stimulant, and phenethylamine. Pure ecstasy when taken in responsible doses (~60-100mg average to 200mg heavy dose) causes very few negative side effects and is relatively safe. MDMA increases blood pressure and heart rate, and can cause dehydration if you do not drink enough water. These are the main risks.

It has been shown to have promising treatment potential for PTSD and autism. MDMA floods the brain with seratonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. This causes euphoria as well as many other sensory alterations. In PTSD patients it allows them to talk openly about their experiences and let go of blocked memories. In autistic patients it can increase empathy and sociability.

MDMA does drain the body of neurotransmitters. An experienced user might tell you to stay hydrated and take 5-HTP supplements the day after to curb the negative. Part of using a drug is understanding the effects AND consequences of use. It is normal to feel slight depression for days to weeks after a good roll.

Ecstasy is a tablet form of MDMA. No measuring required, no dealing with powder. People press measured amounts of MDMA along with who knows what the hell into pills and sell them to people looking for a good time. These are cut with anything from DXM (cough suppressant/dissociative) to speed, analog tryptamines, heroin, and methamphetamine. The “mental health issues” it can lead to are short term ones such as depression and anxiety, which should be an expected possible outcome if you plan to use any stimulants or psychedelics.

Your friends got MDMA that was “pure” as declared by a dealer. That’s their own fault. You have no idea what it is sadly. Even pure MDMA is often cut with meth or speed. Either make it yourself from saffrole oil, spend $50 on a test kit http://dancesafe.org/products/testing-kits/complete-adulterant-screening-kit-0, or just stay away from it.

People that don’t know what they’re doing give drugs a bad name. I’m not glorifying ecstasy, I’m being real with you.

@ijesuschrist, I’m not trying to demonize the substance as it does that on its own (‘ecstasy’ anyways not pure mdma). Pure mdma once in awhile isn’t going to hurt anyone. ‘Ecstasy’ on the other hand kills tons of people and if you think it deserves to be in the hands of people with their whole lives ahead of them because it has “its place” then i think there’s something wrong with that logic. Same with any other fucked drug. You can say crack is a tool, maybe a tool to help with population control. Also, if someones relying on drugs to deal with anxiety they will never beat the anxiety and will have to use the drug to escape. It’s really just a weak way of dealing with shit.

@liveitloveit, Thanks for the post but i think it was already cleared up that MDMA is not terrible (not sure if you read the rest of the posts). Also, obviously we didn’t know if it was or not. That was my whole point, teens are uniformed and think they are taking something pure and then turns out it isn’t. More profit for the dealer so he doesn’t care that hes lying. That’s how lives are taken.

@splashartist, … “Also, if someones relying on drugs to deal with anxiety they will never beat the anxiety and will have to use the drug to escape. It’s really just a weak way of dealing with shit.”

Dude, cmon… you aren’t aware of the dozen or so studies out that shows MDMA cures depression and PTSD for war vets??

@ijesuschrist, Just did a little googling on it, seems like a legit solution for PTSD. Cheers!

There’s a difference between using drugs to help overcome and cope with your anxieties and abusing drugs to escape your anxieties.
