Learning what not to post on HE

@Sasho you’re looking at this way too black and white. Manimal and I *like sports*. A discussion about how incredibly inspiring the six-hour nadal-djokovic final was (not to mention the murray-djoker semi, which was even better tennis and storyline) would be more fitting here than just “go ManU!” or whatever spawned this thread. I disagree that HE’s purpose is to discuss everything under the sun. In fact I would hope that people here would object if I just starting posting thread after thread – “what are your favorite shoes?” “Let’s talk about cars?” “what movies are da bomb?” “Is 4G fast enuff 4u?” “Favorite recipes” “Who’s the hottest actor/actress.?” @anon Re: content. My assumption has always been that Jordan’s blog and mission sets the tone for the site. “Question anything & everything that is considered ‘normal’”. |

Yeah well… you have a point @daveb. But I think what makes people want to post threads on this site is because of the kindness and welcoming they usually get. Not always as it seems. Well, at least I might learn something about different types of drugs. |

Woooow guys! Don’t hate on a guy just because he wanted to discuss something that interested him. Perhaps he just wanted to see if any like minded people (people who enjoy philosophy and such) also liked sports just as he does. |

Right? They should be glad that no one talks about political parties. :D |

Sasho, your defense of this thread is “at least it doesn’t suck more”? |

the irony is that Jordan started this site as an homage to the benefits of drug use, thus “high existence”. but it turned out that most of the people who came here wanted to discuss deeper topics – philosophy, self-improvement, world affairs, spirituality – and so it evolved from a site about drug experiences to one of challenge, growth, and the exploration of ideas that we *can’t* discuss with most (or all) of the people in our everyday lives. I don’t like using the collective “we”, but “we’re” not trying to hate on anybody, we’re challenging each other to do more, be more while we’re here in this one small corner of the web. To me this site is like the Dead Poet’s Society of the internet – Make your lives extraordinary . . . the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse . . .strive to find your own voice . . . live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. read the comments here: http://www.highexistence.com/mission/. The chance to actually inspire others while we ourselves are growing is in my experience a very rare and special opportunity!! For all the people here that think the world is fucked up – HE has the potential to be an agent of change if we the members make it happen. Or, it can be Facebook 2. our choices will decide which one it becomes as it continues to grow – and it will continue to grow, either way. g’nite everyone. and Go Red Sox!! |

I feel like an Off topic section should have an extra feed from the HE dissusions that we all love to dive into. This site does need some form of open fourm. Just keep it under the radar maybe for members Only? that way people join for the enlightenment and not the irrelevant off topic threads. |

Ok just for everyones information, I actually signed up yesterday, have no idea what is acceptable or “unacceptable” so sorry If I’ve pushed any buttons it was 100% not intended. I’ll leave sports for now. Thanks everyone. |

Nah kid, this is acceptable.. it is a useless thread I wouldn’t have engaged in yes, but theres a lot of useless threads here. Only a baby would complain. Manimal was just being a hypocritical douche bag for no reason.. the fucker just posted in a thread about mythical creatures for christ sake. |

@Anon, yeh in hindsight I can admit theres no real framework or structure to what I posted, but i’m only just starting to get an insight to what this website provides and what kind of things to be discussing. I am currently on loads of Liverpool forum pages, however the problem is so many people their are either biased or hypocritical. When i was looking through HE most of the users seemed open minded about such things so I was just asking if there were any out there. It’s cool though what Manimal had to say was his own opinion, that’s what this whole site is created for right? Take it Easy, Stox. |

I come to HE for the diversity, if you don’t like contradictory opinions, this probably isn’t the place for you(in my opinion). But you seem to have taken it in stride so, nice. :) |

The only thing that should be on HE are topics where we discuss what should be on HE. |
