Kind of, but I find it difficult to separate the two. It sounds to me like you’re trying to differentiate between “I love hammers!” and “I love being able to smash things with hammers!” and I can see the differences, but would say they are negligible, or at least boil down to nothing really. But I guess that’s a difference in the importance of diction. |

@sirensetmefree, yeah I gotcha. Good secondary clarification, hahah. For me there’s difference between discussing fallacies and discussing hammers as you presented that makes it quite less than negligible… hammers are not errors of the mind. I’m quite glad there are hammers in the world, but the world could do with much less (or no!) error of this sort. LOL! |

@nightowl, I second that motion! Let’s get rid of errors. |

Yesyesyes! @Martijn oh-so-kindly bolded the fallacy categories for us on my request. Now it’s >9000 times easier to find them and generally navigate the post! |

So are we allowed to have opinions, or will you just refer us to the fallicy list? |

@trek79, opinions aren’t fallacies. If you read the list you won’t find anything that blurs the line. If you express in the form of an opinion, then you’re not claiming a fact of something that isn’t assuredly so. |

@nightowl, It got a bit long, I have a short attention span, read about 1/3rd. But opinions are all I ever give. I would like scientists, politicians and the media to obey it, but as far as a site where people just basically have interesting conversations, I wouldn’t hold it as a rule. But yeah, for people to be a little clearer on the possition that it is an opinion would be nice, but that is an ideal that I don’t think is nessecary because I only ever take anything anyone on here says as opinion. That is because I don’t research their references, short attention span remember :) |

@trek79, indeed, opinions are all you ever give. I’ve never seen you commit a fallacy or say anything disagreeable, whether it’s my perspective or not. Thank you sir. Also. I quote you very often – “People think the problem is huge so the answer must be radical; they are just allowing their frustrations to over-ride vision.” |

@nightowl, I wouldn’t say I’m completely innocent but I try. |

@nightowl, This original post, did you find this somewhere or is this a personal essay? The link you provided is to a wiki on dialect, is it there somewhere? Just my dad is interested in it because he takes politics very seriously. |

Whatever, troll. Leave. Just like that other thread, I will not reply to you again here. |

Identifying you a troll isn’t ad hominem since you’re a troll. I even moderators agree. You troll all-around. Your post before the last was a sarcastic and attacking troll post and nothing else. |
