Just downloaded the new Lupe album but I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to it. I can’t stop playing this song ‘Beautiful Lasers’ from his previous album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDb425Rux6I
Was curious if there are any HEthians that are Lupe fans…if you haven’t heard of him, and you’ve taken time out of your day to open this thread I would love to hear what you think of the song. Anyways I gotta dip out to work now :( Later folks!
Me!! I enjoy Lupe a lot. not only because his songs are cool, but because he is critical guy. check “Words I never said”, “I’m beamin”, “BMFreestyle” out. the first 2 are cool to listen, the third one is more like he criticizing the Elite and stuff. It’s cool.
I love Lupe Fiasco, especially his first two albums. I didn’t really get as many plays or put as much interest into Lasers as I did Food and Liquor and The Cool, but I still thought it had some pretty damn good songs on it. The album just released, though…gotta say I’m disappointed. I like the messages hes trying to get across and I think that’s great, but I just think he’s lost some of the essence, some of the oomph he had with his older stuff. It sounds too similar to me, nothing really stood out or grabbed my interest.
I’m a big Lupe fan. I’m at school right now, so I haven’t been able to download his new album (I’m a pirate, yikes..), but Beautiful Lasers is a great song. I have heard the “Around my Way” single from Food and Liquor 2, and that song is great. If you haven’t, definitely check out his older albums also.
I like him more when he first came out. I was a really big fan. His songs from a 3rd person view and story telling like “the cool.” Now it seems every song he comes out with has a political message.. which is nice.. i guess..
