Maurice Sendak passed away this morning. I know I’ll miss him. I just kind of wanted to know what people on here thought about his impact he’s had during his life, he wrote many books, never considered himself a child book writer, but that’s how many people saw his books.
also… I don’t really know what topic to put this under… sorry if it’s the wrong one!
He was a unique and interesting individual for sure.
He was awesome on the Colbert Report as well.
Also really digging what he said at the end of that video.
“I said anything I wanted because I don’t believe in children I don’t believe in childhood. I don’t believe that there’s a demarcation. ‘Oh you mustn’t tell them that. You mustn’t tell them that.’ You tell them anything you want. Just tell them if it’s true. If it’s true you tell them.”
