“Basic Instinct-1 “was a great movie….Sharon Stone did a remarkable justice to her role….you will totally be off track till the end scenes when all is revealed….there are other good movies like “The Beautiful mind”, “Inception”, “Perfume-The story of a murderer”(This story is not essentially a mindfuck but it potrays an irony so powerful….when he gets devoured by the love which he has always sought for….”Shutter Island”, “The Orphan”,”A Beautiful Mind”…..
I would add The Man From Earth, probably throw Fight Club on there, and one of my personal favorites, Primer
If you haven’t seen Primer, I would say watch it right now, in fact, i’m going to watch it right now. The first time I saw it I watched it 2 more times within 24 hours. Easily the best movie ever made on a $7000 budget. I’ll come up with some more though
Memento and Inception are two of my most favorite movies. The way they are structured are amazing. They are the reason Christopher Nolan is my favorite director (Next being James Cameron and Tim Burton)
These haven’t been mentioned yet, but are well worth giving a chance imho:
Solaris (ONLY the Russian original from 1972 / I’m not saying this for hipster reasons, it’s just that the remake sucks donkey balls by comparison / also other Tarkovsky masterpieces like Stalker and Nostalghia)
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004)
Tropical Malady (2004)
The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema (2006 / it’s a documentary-lecture featuring philosopher Slavoj Zizek, may open your eyes to psychoanalytic dimensions of many classic and modern films)
What the Bleep Do We Know
Star Trek (how did they make it so good?)
Avatar (how did they make it so good?)
Watch for the Hobbit, coming later this year. I will be peaking 30 minutes into the movie. Going to be the biggest mind fuck of my life.
