I put this on when I’m going to bed and 9 times out of 10 I’m asleep before it’s over. If I’m still awake, I just put it back on! Works a charm. What (ambient) music do you like to listen to going to sleep? |

Wow Pete, nice topic ;) now that I’m about to post, I’m realizing mine isn’t ambient, I hope you don’t mind that I still post it. This song used to knock me out in one shot. Then once I was tripping, but was trying so hard to fall asleep, so I put this song on ‘repeat’ so that I’d fall asleep-but I didn’t, so I was just up all night with this song over &over tripping my face off.. now it kinda trips me out a little every time I hear it :) |

I love it! There’s a reason the ambient is in brackets :) I love that feeling when a song makes you almost feel high. I get that with Orbital all the time. Especially Belfast what a song. We could even make another discussion dedicated just to songs like that. In the meantime. Enjoy! |

I cannot listen to music when I sleep. :( Everytime I have tried, I end up staying up late because the music inspires me to write. |

Ahhh yes music my favorite topic, i mostly listen to classical music like Mozarts Piano Concerto No 21 in C minor, Piano Concerto No 25 in D minor, J.S. Bach Ave Maria, Gregorian Chants, and my all time favorite would be anything from Enigma. |

I’m kind of like Luigi except I don’t channel my thoughts to writing. I just listen and think and it keeps me awake way too long. Much longer than reading before bed. |

Enigma is great! I posted Return to Innocence on the HE playlist. Enigma tends to help guide me into meditation, deep thinking, and sleep. Another strange coincidence is that the only classical piece I prefer to fall asleep to is Piano Concerto 21. |

Nice choices so far. I’m not one who can usually fall asleep with music playing which definitely makes it difficult when staying overnight with someone who needs music to sleep. I learned to fall asleep to Bluetech: I can however use music to get me ready for sleeping. Enya usually will do a good job of that as not only is it incredibly relaxing ambient music, I have childhood memories of listening to her self-titled album with my mother. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIKzo_6CHhA Other good choices for me are Massive Attack, Air, Bonobo and pretty much any triphop. |

I’m one of those people who can fall asleep anywhere at any time (was close this morning when they pulled out my last wisdome tooth, but then again, that might just be the drugs) Anyways, one of those groups that always make me relax and feel like i’m getting closer to sleep is the portugese group Madredeus, so here comes one of my favorites
Just hope i manage to embed it this time…. otherwhise, youtube Madredeus Oxala Oxala |

I can’t sleep if i listen any kind of music as i get so much lost into music that i stay up late hours it inspires me to draw or paint something. |
