Arguing is awesome as long as both parties keep it respectful.
This website is unique because people can handle disagreement. I find that with a lot of people I meet, they take disagreement personally. It is taboo to directly contradict someone, and seen as rude, even when you keep personal attacks out of it.

Yeah, I love arguing, but I hate the fact that most people tend to take it personally.
Sometimes I try to start conversations with people about our varying perspectives on a given issue, but they usually just end up getting offended that I disagree.
Another thing I often see is people who automatically agree with someone, just to make friends with them. I’d much rather begin a friendship by disagreeing with someone and haveing a long, intelectually-based debate (or argument) with them about it in a civilized manner. I admire people who are open minded enough to do so much more than people who agree with everything.
Because people like that are so rare in the real world, it’s great to have sites like this where we are all capable of having open discussions on every kind of issue with eachother.
