@mick, @vasco, Hey guys, I’ve been having problems with the VPS (the site goes down unpredictably about once every week). I have to restart it each time to get it working again.
The customer support guy said that I might have to back-up everything, delete it all and then re-download it onto the server.
For now I’ll just restart it. Should be working in about 5 minutes!

I just got a sexy new Forest Theme for my website as well as a new logo. It looks sooooo much better now IMO!
What do you guys think?

Also, I posted an interview I did with @feren6 about his website Inner Gladiator. Thanks Max!

Check it out if you’re interested:

@jpete011,

The website is Phenomenal!!! Genius idea.
I have simple idea that could make it even better. I don’t know if you noticed but all of the great websites have a video in their homepage explaining who they are or what the website’s goal is, or what can be learned in the website. Consider adding one of those (they can be short 2-5mins)

@luzimzo, Thanks John!
Yeah I was definitely thinking of doing that eventually. Just to clarify, are you referring to a video of them just talking or is there more to it?

@luzimzo, Wow that is a great example. Thanks, man. Did you end up purchasing any of Brian Johnson’s products? I’m thinking about investing in one of them.

@jpete011,

I love Brian Johnson’s products! The only thing I have to “complain” about them is how deep everything he says is. Every other sentence is a life changing “AHA” moment. His Philosopher’s notes 1st edition is only 20 or 50 or 100 (whatever price works for you). You are going to love it!

I recently wrote two new posts on my website. I think all you HEthens will really dig it!

the first is about getting what you want in life as quickly as possible:

the second is about mastering your relationship with food and becoming super healthy:

@jpete011, fair play. Just visited the site for the first time in months and looks like I’ve missed out on a lot! Great job! Keep up the good work… It’s inspiring!

@mick, thanks so much! Yeah I am posting new content up every week so keep checking in. I am even interviewing Jordan Lejuwaan tomorrow night about self discovery and “finding your bliss.” I will likely be posting this interview in the beginning of next week.

I also plan to interview Martijn Schirp this week. He is traveling in Indonesia at the moment (I believe) so we are trying to find a time that works for the both of us. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for the kind words, man

@jpete011

First, I commend you for creating a website like this. There are many sites aimed at bettering life, but I think they’re all unique. Working on a project like this is never a waste of time.

Second, from reading previous posts, it sounds like you’ve significantly improved the site in the past few months, but the only thing I’d prefer is that the posts were titled links with a subhead rather than each post being fully displayed under each topic section. That would clean up the page and make the site look more concise overall. Seeing everything displayed at once can overwhelm a reader.

Also, there’s no white space between posts, which can also overwhelm a reader. Our eyes search for a break in text. The posts individually are formatted well, but since there is no break between posts, it can strain the eyes. If posts were linked as I suggested above, that would solve the issue anyway.

Good luck with your work!

@longlivehedwig, Hey thanks man for the advice! I considered your suggestion and made some changes: I changed the format so that posts only show title links and then a “Read more…” link, instead of displaying the full post. Now on the front page you can quickly scroll through 10 posts without having to read through each one. In addition, on the right side of the page there is a list of “Top Posts & Pages.”

I think this is all a big improvement; however, I’m considering making the featured images on the main page even smaller so that the reader can see even more posts without having to scroll so much. What do you think?
