@shbarton, It is the (physical) changes in the brain caused by watching too match porn and masturbating to it. It creates a false believe of how our sexual lives should be (your brain literally (physically) changes !) and how our partners should look like/should be like/should act like. I advise you to read the website http://www.yourbrainonporn.com, there you will find a lot of answers on your questions/concerns. Once again: there is NOTHING WRONG with masturbating. A lot of people judge without knowing what they are talking about: see the website for more information. |

@luigiblue, Well said! I am somewhere around the 200 days as well, or maybe even more. That is, without the porn, I have masturbated though. 90 Days without porn and masturbation for me, that was enough for me. Masturbation gets so much better without porn guys, it really does! Your fantasy will start working again, and you start appreciating it more! Definitely true about how you look at women, and how your standard gets more normal again, instead of only looking at women that look like porn-stars not being attracted to other girls anymore (how sick is that?!?) Porn is just another way of brainwashing and manipulating us! |

I stopped for a month starting this September as i moved out to college. It has made a huge impact in my social life. Since you are no longer satisfied sexually, your brain changes and decides to get the satisfaction the natural way. By no effort I am ten times more outgoing around girls. I will approach girls without second guessing and i am much more flirty too. this has been working great. before college I would consider myself to be outgoing but by no means a ladies man but now all the girls seem to find me super attractive. Its weird but I think this is why |

@filipek, Definitely agree with what you said. When I was masturbating to porn all the time, I swear I wasn’t meeting any girls or potential girlfriends. Not to mention I was going through long sexless droughts. I used porn to replace those droughts and it damaged me psychologically. As soon as I quit, everything changed. I was more into “regular” women, I was meeting women everywhere and women were more attracted to me (could be the higher dose of testosterone and pheromones flowing). Anyways, I was having sex regularly because my mind was no longer settling for porn. My mind instantly went into natural instinct mode and I was out in the real world meeting new women and looking for a mate. It’s a beautiful thing…it really is. |

@filipek, So the problem is more-so with watching porn of women that are way out of your league and more fit than the average woman? I agree the porn industry is such a scam in what they’re selling, but there is /real/ porn out there, like webcams. Real people with their real partner sharing videos or even live streams of their sexual activity, whether for profit or not. What is your views on this kind of porn? It feels way more real when you’re watching a person’s unedited behavior and maybe even interacting with them in real-time; not just watching their ‘scene’. nvm, i think i get it after reading what Luigi said. It’s not necessarily the porn nor the masturbation, just the convenience of them together that makes a person complacent and not pursuing the real-deal. |

@versai, It’s not the fact that the girl is hotter or out of your league. There are many factors in this whole idea. It is the fact that while you masturbate to porn, normally, you watch one porn, then another, then another, then another. Your brain releases dopamine every time you switch girls and get excited; therefore, in real life you get bored of one girl because your brain needs more, it needs 8 pornstars or different fantasies etc, for you to get off. Then in that case you end up settling for porn because it is what releases the most dopamine and what gets you off the best. I’ve heard many guys say that they actually prefer masturbation to porn than with real partners and that is completely fucked up and unnatural. You gotta get rid of that addiction, if you have one, and get your brain back to wanting and enjoying real women instead of fictional characters. “When you remove a source of pleasure from the brain, it is like taking away the leg of a table. The whole thing becomes rocky and unstable. The brain really has two options: one, to make you hurt like hell in every way it can think of to ‘encourage’ you to put the table leg back again, or two, to accept that the table leg is really gone, and figure out how to re-balance without it. Of course, it tries Option One first. Then, after a while, it starts to get to work on Option Two, all while still pushing Option One in the meantime. Eventually, it seems like the brain re-balances, giving up on Option One, and fully succeeding at Option Two.” |

Howdy folks, never signed onto it, but I’ve been going strong for 7 days now of no porn and no masturbation. Aiming for 90, we’ll see how it goes. Question though: These past couple of days, I’ve felt heavier. I don’t know if I’m imagining it or not. I play college tennis, and what I mean by I’ve felt heavier is that I am moving slower than normal, and that’s not something that I can really afford to have happen. Any explanation for this? Or is it all in my mind? |

Signing up, this will definitely be interesting. I’ll start now, I’m going to start keeping time from midnight. I’m going to make a goal of a minimum of one year without porn or masturbation, shit, chills down my back thinking that…. Wish me luck. Also the first real goal I’ve ever made, but where better to start than here? Yeah, I can think of some better places as well lol. |

Just passed my 30 day no porn, no masturbation, over the weekend. Going for 60. Then we’ll see from there. Probs have a casual toss sometime after that. |

I need to do this challenge. I’ve gotten to where I’m running late in the mornings and I have to rush and speed on the road because of losing time in my bed. Does anyone have any helpful tips to fight the urges? |

I went 2 weeks and then broke the streak. It wasn’t worth it and I just felt shitty after. Starting again today and now I have the motivation from my last failed attempt. Gonna go atleast 30 days this time, promise |

Yea brandon. If you aren’t already, get into fitness/working your body, also eating healthier. I’ve never done it in my life until this challenge, all these things go hand in hand with tackling an addiction. I personally had to make myself extremely busy with things i wanted to do in life to keep me from failing the challenge. I still feel like i haven’t even scratched the surface yet If not now? then when? Seriously, i kept saying “later.”, but later turned into 2 years for some things. The hard bits: In a way it’s subtle, but when you really think of how you were and how you are now even after just 30 days (they do fly by if you stay busy) It’s a huge amount of control bestowed upon you. Go out and live! life’s huge. Props on the 2 weeks rob! that’s a serious effort, smash the 30 days man! |

@brandonphillips, consciously think about it before you give in. Think about all the benefits you’ll make by not doing it, the increased energy, increased clarity of thought, the increased physical endurance and strength, and not to mention increased real-life libido. If you masturbate, you’ll only be making it harder for yourself to have all those things. The more you don’t give in when you are tempted, the easier it gets to say no to it, until it becomes effortless. Maybe if you have time, when you are tempted, do something else, like work out, hop on the bike/skateboard/roller blades/whatever, and push it out of your head. |

I’d like start by saying this challenge has left me feeling wonderful, but unfortunately, after nearly two months, I gave up. Now you’re probably thinking this is due to a lack of self control, but it most certainly isn’t. Hell, its even easier now that there’s a special lady in my life. Anyway, I decided to stop with the challenge today because I have come to the belief that I am unable to ejaculate. Today was the second time I’ve ever had sex. I thought I would be the kid that blew up before things got sweaty, but even after hours of fun, no orgasm. When I got home today, I decided to tackle the purple headed warrior myself. Sure enough (and without the aid of any virtual ladies,) yogurt was slung. Even though I know I can still fire the cannon, I’m still worried this will be a life long problem. Its not my girlfriend, she’s amazing, and attractive (no girl has had any success at this). My sex drive is high, no condom was used, and it isn’t difficult to become erect. So I’m just wondering, has anyone else had a problem like this and does anyone have any idea how I could fix this? |

@ryanj, Seriously dude, how is that a bad thing? It just means you can go for hours, and that you’re not wasting your precious life force on a stupid heat-of-the-moment splurge. Unless you’re making babies, there’s no point in ejaculating. Just enjoy the sex, relax… it’s about the journey, not the goal. Plus, worrying will not make it easier to ejaculate, it will do the opposite. Gotta relax, mate. |

Where does your mind go? Distraction is probably the problem, unfocusing after a certain amount of time of focus. It being your second time, maybe another, still pretty inexperienced and new. |

Usually the reason you may not be able to orgasm during sex is because you do something called ‘The Death Grip’ when you masturbate. The death grip stimulates different things that actual sex can’t stimulate. As stupid as it may sound, quite a lot of addicts suffer from ED and inability to orgasm because of how they masturbate. The fix I’ve seen work is to try to completely orgasm free for 90 days, but realistically, your should go for as long as it takes to fix it, which is usually less than 90 days. A great website to check out is http://www.reddit.com/r/NoFap |

@manimal, in hindsight, I am glad that I’m able to go for so long. No idea why I was so damn pessimistic about it, I feel amazing right now; full of energy! She loves it anyway, and I sure do enjoy the journey. I think I’ll look at this as a gift from now on, thanks Elion. |
