Publishing poetry through a publisher is really hard. You either have to have connections, previous publications, or get really lucky. I’ve been sending some of my stuff off but nothing yet.
Ok… here’s a little something I call “The Condition Of Life”
POSTPONE THE APOCALYPSE
I am a raconteur, a grandeur voyeur, a force majeur. I am not de rigour, and yes I know about Louis Pasteur. Regardless, I will leave this.
People comin’ through and we’re gonna find you. Maybe you should start anew, construe a canoe, pursue a tattoo even though it’s taboo. If you want to… I can give you some analytical review.
Language is devolving.
“Oh poo! I think I caught swine flu.” I need a cure, it’s on debut.
You’re pretty hard to get into, but someone would sure like to get in you.
Contageous, we spread across this nation. What I’m droppin’ is inspiration, so technically I breathe creation.
Please break for the enlightened and of course they’ll not be frightened.
Yeah I’m a teacher, I’m also a student
Inadequate health care is quite a scare I admit, but I have clean water to drink… No shit.
In this great country, with great power, it becomes great… with responsibility.
If you deal me a card I’m gonna use it

Our father, ART, in heaven hallowed be thy name.
Oh my god is this kid foreal? He’s spitting words that I can feel.
Uttering words long spent unspoken, we are revolutionaries awoken.
From a young age I took to the page,
A long search for love landed me looking through memories for a glimpse of greatness.
Us humans are hollow and by nature fill the whole with things, hobbies, and ideas. Whether you choose thinking or drinking… what to do is up to you.
There is only one moment, and it is NOW, and it is eternity.
@ddub21, Lyricists With Delivery, I Dig. Appreciate The Link My Man.

My top 5 MC’s:

But the 5th one is always changing.
If you’re just getting into hip-hop, ask yourself this: Do you want a good message, or good rhyming?
The best rhymer is MF DOOM.
@joepass, wow, good mellow song with a powerful meaning. definitely gonna look into his music. thanks for the suggestion!
@facets, MF Doom, aw yea. The rapping part of Dirty Harry by Gorillaz, or the whole song. It’s very war directed.
5 of today: J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Kanye West, and that fifth one could be anyone independent or someone fading out still spittin like nas, em, or jay-z. ASAP Rocky’s real nice though. and macklemore and cool independent dudes. Oh and once indicud comes out Kid Cudi is going to officially find his way into the prime top artists of this era.
@shirbean, Duuuude nice picks.
Top 5 rappers/rap groups still alive and doing it.
Aesop Rock, Foreign Beggars, Mos Def, Atmosphere, Eminem – although the last 3 really lack meaningful subject matter lately and their flow has escaped them.
Top 3 deceased or broken up groups.
Tribe, Pharcyde, Binary Star
@liveitloveit, Pretty fucking clean dude
I’ll freestyle one in a bit
- Immortal Technique
Bedroom walls, bathroom stalls, gossip drawling on and on
@danfontaine, Mos Def lacking subject matter lately? Have you listened to his Niggas In Paris Remix?
No one has mentioned Lupe Fiasco yet? What do you guys think? Definitely worth checking out his stuff:
Words I Never Said, Form Follows Function, Around My Way, Put You On Game, Kick Push, The Instrumental & American Terrorist II.
Also, I’d like to recommend some independent UK hip-hop artists; Lowkey & Mic Righteous in particular. It’s worth checking out Mic Righteous’ Fire in The Booth Part 2 and Lowkey’s song with Immortal Technique: Voice of the Voiceless. I’d recommend checking more of Lowkey’s stuff, one of my favourite artists of all time.
I also write some lyrics here and there, I might post some sometime :).
@emnes, Rappers are some egotistical, pathological fucks in general. I find it very hard to see eye-to-eye or to look up to hardly any rap artists these days. Mos Def used to be majestic but now he’s an idiot, trying to spread out too much – trying to be popular.
@emnes, Lupe’s on some chill trip and it isn’t cool
The vibe is energized by the presence of my spirit
@danfontaine, what makes you say he’s trying to be popular?
What do you mean?
All of Jurassic 5 is so good, bringing some great rhythmic flowing vibes to the game
@tatler, Hell ya senior year of high school J5 was my shyit! Concrete schoolyard is so baller.
@emnes, Well he did his whole rock’n'roll experiment and totally fucking blew dick at it, now he’s trying to collab with black keys is what I have taken in, and doing similar experiments. He’s still got his voice but nothing good to say and no creative passion.
Have a look at a these hiphop groups from new zealand homebrew and @peace, these two bands have a amazing lyricist called tom scotch
here are a few of there tracks coming from the deep south of the world New zealand!!
@tatler, It’s weird watching the video though because their voices are like way better than their stage performance.
