I had an awesome philosophical conversation with a friend the other night. After asking “why?” for way too long, it always came down to the question:
“Is anything an oughta be?”
Obviously, this is a question usually answered by religion. But when we take religion out of the equation, it really opens up the horizon to new avenues of thinking. We talked about our greatest purpose as humans, happiness/emotions and the possibility that everything we know and experience is wrong in relation to the question. But I want to see the route this community takes to reach the, if there is one, answer.
Let’s dive deeper, shall we? Tell me why anything oughta be _______. Work together :)
people who think they know everything oughta not think they know anything.
“I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.” -Socrates
Let’s continue under this premise.
