Oh how true this is! Peace comes from non-resistance to the world around us. If we go through life hoping to change everything that makes us unhappy, we will not be happy. But if we are accepting of what there already is, we open up this brand new world for ourselves. It is very hard to do. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

@Rosemarie: “Peace of mind comes not from wanting to change others, but by simply accepting them as they are.” ==> Indeed! I think that one of the most challanging and rewarding experiences in my life was to learn to accept my boyfriend as he is. I used to be very demanding, and I used to get angry or sad when he did nit behave exactly as I expected it… That resulted in a lot of heartbreaks, feelings of guilt etc… I finally came to realize that love is about accepting the one you love, loving them unconditionally, without expecting anything in return from them, and with not conditions or limitations: you can’t say: I would be happier with you if you behaved more like this and less like that, it is unfair, selfish and meanigless, you have to find the meaning for your love inside you, and have faith in the one your love and in yourself, accept them as they are and be convinced that there is no point, and no meaning in trying to change them!

” we open up this brand new world for ourselves..” Another world were only peace and hapiness exists, a sense of one-ness. We’re actually so close to it :-)
