I have to write a persuasive essay and I want to write it on religion and how it has hurt the world and simply initiated more bad things than good. This is a very large topic to discuss and I was wondering if anyone had an idea on what I can focus in on for the topic. Any ideas on the subject or how to narrow it down would be greatly appreciated!

@ggm917, in my opinion religion supports closed mindedness. you are meant to live a certain set way and if you dont then something bad happens (like hell)

@ggm917, Live a good life. If there are Gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are Gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no Gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.
