Rights of Passage

2 years, 5 months ago

I’ve been feeling for a while now like I am in need of a right of passage. I find myself stuck in this awkward stage between boyhood and manhood. In this day in age, in our society this subject seems common place but i never really hear people talk about it. I became an eagle scout right before i turned 18 but i guess it just didnt do it for me. i’ve been reading a little bit about different ROP from different cultures around the world and considering creating one for myself. Seems like with so many HEthens trying to find their place in the world, this topic would have come up already.

Anyone else had one officially or wanting one? Im interested in advise or cool stories(from men and women) about your Right of Passage.

@greenfield, I think my right of passage would have to have been playing a sizable crowd for money on my guitar. Or maybe breaking into my highschool the week after I graduated and spending the night running through the halls, doing all the shit I ever wanted to, like going into the girls bathroom, and smashing beakers in the science lab.

I’ve been thinking of this to. For me I just need my financial independence. Once I’m independent and able to support myself that’s when I will finally feel I live as a man.

@thomaschong I dig that man. Your first paid gig would be an amazing feeling. I’m on the search for that feeling.

This is a little off topic but from your stories it sounds like you’re somewhat of a wizard when it comes to hallucenigenics. Do you think the things you’ve seen on your trips and the insights you’ve had are specific to you? Would you say each person sees what they’re supposed to see?

@greenfield, Yes, defiantly, drugs are the only way our brains can speak directly to use, they’re a gateway to the subconscious.
