Scientists may have found the Higgs-Boson

2 years, 8 months ago

http://news.yahoo.com/particle-worlds-largest-atom-smasher-likely-higgs-boson-091800326.html

Discuss? Personally, I think we may find in the future that the Higgs field is what provides us with consciousness. They say that the field permeates everything, and quite literally gives everything it’s matter. And other properties of quantum physics suggest that reality is not merely matter, but an interaction of matter and concious experience. Could the Higgs field be subjectivity manifest?

I was just about to post something about this. Does it possibly support the law of attraction?

^^ VERY good question, one I had never thought of. I don’t know at the moment; that’s something I’ll have to do more research on/thinking about. I’ve read a couple of Michio Kaku’s books on quantum physics; I am by no means an expert on the subject. A quantum physicist would probably be the best person to ask :p

from the article above, this caught my attention: “Its (the God particle’s) discovery represents a major step forward in our understanding of why the universe exists as it does… ”

“why the universe exists as it does…”

“as it does…”

we are still eons away from figuring why we exist at all. why does anything exist at all? smart fuckers pretending to be answering THE question of them all :P .. lol, no offence yo.. i love that we are so awesome.

i mean some of us. most of us just sit around clicking on keys all the time. buh

@vizznou,
I think by “exists as it does” they mean that the Higgs-Boson particle would verify the Standard Model as the moel by which our physical laws work. I don’t think they’re claiming to say that finding this particle would be the answer to why the universe started, the meaning of life, allbigmetaphysicalquestions & etc.

@dsundre,
I think that science is really the only reasonable system of epistemology to use to go about figuring out the physical laws of our universe, and exactly how matter & chemicals & biologynshit interact to form the reality we percieve. However, I think it is important to remember that science can’t answer all the questions out there; including exactly why these laws exist and their greater purposes. Science can deduct how our world is governed, but not the essence of that which both created and essentially is the governing system. Science and a larger spiritual context are not incompatible; in fact, they are so compatible it’s shocking.

it’s hysterical really how hard they try and how much money they spend and how much time they take to build ass this crap to analyze a small particle – science is so fucking far off from where it should be – people think the hadron colider’s purpose is to find the higgs – i loled if only they knew what it really was for and who invested all the funds for this to happen.

im going to leave it at that and just say this; think of me how you wish but i will not give you my sources of information – they are very much physically real and there.

you want to figure it all out take 5g of shrooms while on skype – the combination of being on shrooms + in a social environment + connecting your energy to the computer + ask while the effects begin to MERGE with the shroom – you will be able to MERGE with it for a short while and access akashic information stored in the dna of the psylocibin cubensis –

any information you want to know will be given to you via emotional impulses of understanding that will result in ”epiphanies” of massive and grandiose proportions with such logic and simplicity you will begin to laugh at how amusing the very essence of it all is in reality..

like i said silly science – easy to dismiss anything that doesn’t serve financial gain or notoriety status for the scientists that find/develop all these bs counter-measures to the problems they themselves created in the first place because they detached from the very essence of understanding.

It amuses me how gurus in asia know more about the very fabric of THIS universe ( there’s 5 ) and understand physics and science better then the so called ”specialists” .

If this higgs boson is the final piece of the standard model of everything, then wouldnt they be able to manipulate everything?Like that of a fling object that seems to skip through our skys with no resistence from anything.

@dsundre, personally i think its good enough that people can alter their own reality based on what they believe to be true.

Understanding the Higgs-Bosson particle is essentially discovering why things exist at all. I’m no quantum physicist but in all my spare readings I’ve come to know this particle as the gravity particle. It is essentially the force that holds all things together; why things are heavy and create gravity.

The Higgs-Bosson, however, is only one part of the mystery. Finding if it does exist at all will further our understanding of black holes, dark matter, and a number of astronomical events. Like @thelightofgod mentioned, we could even understand the personal fields of every individual object in existence.

Does that mean Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle and Schrodinger’s Cats will longer be valid?

Michio Kaku is such a joke. Sure he’s got some good brain matter in that head, enough to get him to where he is, but his books are just fabrications made in order to sell and make money. His books aren’t real physics.

@9thparadox, Apparently, I read a while ago that the schrodinger’s cat was actually observed to no onger be valid. Scientists in Japan claimed to have both seen a particle in two states at once, in other words – they saw the “cat” both “dead and alive” if you will.

Whether or not the higgs boson exists – I don’t know. But they also claimed to have broken the speed of light about 2 or 3 months back, and we all know what happened there. “Oops, loose cord!”

Three Higgs bosons arrive in a (particle acceleration) bar. Before the bartender can ask them what they’d like to drink, the bosons decay and the unfinished joke is recorded and sent out for peer review.

@dsundre, As much as I respect the gurus and their ability and understanding of the universe, they never built a rocket that flew to the moon. Science has a very real purpose. As does Enlightenment. But saying either are pointless would be flawed reasoning. However, if you choose to not worry about science, that’s your choice. A full life can be lived without it. I personally find it quite interesting, and yet still have the desire to build my own abode in the middle of nowhere and live off the land in peace and, ideally, Enlightenment. Until then, science is awesome in my book.

@bongodeburrito, Don’t get me wrong Science has it’s place – just not this corrupted garbage we have going on at the moment – and for the rocket comment – if it was not for those atlantians messing up Lemuria we would be doing much more then relying on a giant metal phallus that consumes stupid amounts of fuel to land us on the moon.

@benjamin, The Higgs field would definitely be responsible for consciousness, as it would literally keeps things together. Its quite possible that a Higgs Boson is “the” elementary particle, vibrating at different frequency to take on different properties. In my mind gravity, entropy, and capularity are all tangible examples of the Higgs field at work.

@thelightofgod, We can make anti-matter as well. Unfortunately manipulating space/time is more a power and technology issue, theorectically if we can make and sustain Higgs Boson particles we could then directly manipulate space/time.

@9thparadox, I believe the Higgs Boson fits within the existing paradigm which includes the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and Schrodinger’s cat concept, it doesn’t negate their existence.

@ijesuschrist, Do you have a link to the Japanese scientist who refuted Schrodinger’s cat?

@mercurial, Science is needed as much as Spirituality. The insights and revelations that Unified Field Theory/Quantum Physics etc provides us also supports what the great Masters have told us all along, that we need to get beyond our dualistic materialistic natures and take a New World View , to move beyond our own little sandlot ballgames and get involved in the greater arena of the world itself, to become Citizens of the Universe!
