Shit that YOU MADE
Hello! My name is Jody and I’m sick of seeing people post stupid shit that other people made.
Not on here — on Facebook. The latest plague seems to be quote images. Not text quotes, images with nothing but words in them. UGH! Consume consume!
I’m not exactly sure why I’m so threatened by it all — I mean, as a creator, noticing that 99% of people don’t make their own stuff should give me comfort.
But anyway. Here’s some stupid, pointless, mediocre shit I made — BUT I MADE IT!
Please post something YOU made!
Stupidity is a problem. “Shit Jody Says” is funny. And your “conversation” with the pigeon is. Kind of.
I guess the problem doesn’t lie in what you do, but how you do it. :)
That’s some shit I made. http://soundcloud.com/sasho-stoyanov/beyond-beyond-me
Dat’s some badass shit! Which program(s)?
Shit I made/folk music. http://www.myspace.com/ktpatrice The first 2 songs are recorded with a mic that doesn’t blow.
Jody- is the mic in the “Shit jody says” a yeti!? Just got one as a present from a dear friend..isn’t it awesome?! So much better than built in computer mics.
oh and your “spoons eye view” cracks me up =)
hahaha spoon’s eye view was awesome, I felt terrified every time you were about to plunge me into the soup again
A Short I made in film school
Some things I’ve drawn with color in the past few weeks
A poem I wrote:
7 billion people in the world
Anatomically we are the same
We cannot allow ourselves to be separated
We are One Race of humans
my art! if anyone is interested to check it out :)
I’ll post a few here for you lazy folks out there :P
@danfontaine, beautiful work!
@alexandriabee, wow thanks Alexa! I’ve never gotten a compliment quite like that. Glad you like :)
@kazi, thanks you! Yours as well, very surreal imagery
@danfontaine, @kazi, these are both very awesome examples. But they seem pretty abstract (not that there is anything wrong with that!). It just makes me wonder, how do you guys go about something like this? Do you start by just drawing, and this is what turns out? Or do you start with a feeling/theme/meaning, and this is what it is put to paper? Or something else entirely?
I ask because I’m trying to get into a more artistic/creative mindset, stuff has really fascinated me lately.
HEthens Got Talent
And I’m glad I stumbled across this discussion because I just finished my fourth rug tonight. :) I’ll put them in the order that I made them.
Finished and uploaded an EP yesterday which is listenable here: http://soundcloud.com/f-block/sets
Vocals done by another fella, but I wrote the words. Would love to know what you all think.
Nice post, loads of awesome stuff! Love your surreal images Kazi.
Here are a small collection of photos I took for fun :)
WELL! Thank you all very much for participating. It’s refreshing. I think I might just stop going to Facebook for a couple days.
@greenbird9183, nice relaxing tunes. I feel like I’m looking out the window of an old wooden house onto an open field in a sunny day…
@spiralout1, I liked it. Watched the whole thing. (omg!) Are you anti-iPhone perchance?
@danfontaine, what’s in that last one? I’m sure I see a boob in there somewhere ;)
@kazi, I like the Mystery-Science-Theater-3000-esque quality of the middle one.
@meghan, sweet! I love the spiraly rainbow one. I’d be hesitant to put dirty feet on it though…
@nickc2007, that sounds pretty pro to me!
@fluxface, VERY cool. It’s refreshing to see photos that make me think.
BUY MY STUFF! CONSUME!
We’re sorry, your stuff is too interesting and intelligent for mass consumption. Please insert more acronyms, kittens and fruit logos and re-submit your request.
@theskafish, Well personally I start with pure emotion and try not to apply too much control to the creation of the image. Rather, I feel that the images create themselves, they come into being through my determinism as an artist, but I feel I don’t come up with them.
@meghan, :) Your rugs are really cool! third one I have to say is my favorite. What a neat thing to spend your time doing.
@danfontaine, i love your drawings. how did you post them like that. the colors are so vivid and they are very fluid. reminds me of some work of edward munch. check him out.
@spiralout1, I watched your film for the second time. I watched it when you first posted it here for the first time. Very good acting and a very good idea. I enjoyed it again.
edit: but I think I am starting to speak like a fucking robot. it gets me. :D
