I’m a writer and I wrote a novel. It is a “monetized commodity” so I won’t link it here. But I want to play in this thread, so here’s the first page…
All that you are, all that you have ever been, the King’s X will reveal…
A lifetime is an arc of lightning. Potent. Unique. Impermanent. What happens when we die? Is it nothing? Is it something?
So much is hidden. So much forgotten. What knowledge remains falls to us in ancient stories of a time lost in shadow. Stories of jealous gods and tormented thieves. Prometheus and the stolen secret of fire. Eve, the Tree of Knowledge, and the taste of forbidden fruit. The clever Raven, who tricked the Sky to steal a piece of the Sun.
No one dies.
What follows is a story of secrets, forbidden knowledge, and stolen fire. This is a story of the King’s X. One of many.
@kazi, Your Tumblr page is great. What do you do with your work? Is it a hobby or profession? Really interesting stuff.
I’ve made a couple of dresses
And my grad dress, can’t find any more photos
@misssunbeam, You totally live in Vancouver! I live there myself ;)
Here’s a poem I just wrote:
Within a Dream…
You emerge from the chaotic symmetry
Also check out my short film, I’m entering it in a robot film festival so I want to get those views up :)
how do i post a picture?
@sumtinprophetic, I don’t make prints…yet
@stharp, kind of both actually. Atm I mostly do it because it’s so fun and joyous to make them, but i am starting my first year of college in the fall where i will be studying graphic design. So in the future, this hobby will turn into a profession.
@spiralout1, I did live in Vancouver at the time, but have since migrated to a bunch of different places and ended up in Whistler now :) I watched your short film for the second time, you did an awesome job with it, congrats! And you also have a knack with poetry!
Hi, this is a project i did in my music theory class my junior year, i had to compose a piece of music and play it, i was graded on how well the performance went. i really thought this song wasnt going to be that good, but now i really enjoy it looking back.
I draw from time to time!
Here is my Deviant Art Gallery | http://nilo-cortex.deviantart.com/gallery/
@meghan, Thanks :) Yes I did use a pattern, I’m not very good at doing things without instructions, I envy your ability to “wing it” :)
@misssunbeam, Well your dresses look fantastic! And I envy your ability to use patterns successfully. Patterns and I, ya know we tried things out. We just don’t really get along.
@misssunbeam, Excellent looking grad dress, I’m quite impressed you made it.
I’ve been learning website design, so far this is what I got. It’s also full of everything else I’ve made.
What a fantastic topic! Glad to see this website BRIMMING with creative gravy, used for basting the right brain turkey.
Trying to get back into drawing again!
This is a portrait of my psychology teacher two years ago.
Four ish years ago I made this
I forget why I made a blog post about it but I thought it was cool at the time, also beat the store bought crap
A more recent colored pencil
@cellardoor, I like your style. I could see you taking that somewhere really cool.
Check out some of the tracks I made http://soundcloud.com/the-lol-guy
I’ve been on and off with my music, because my studies are demanding but I’ve started putting some serious time into it again
i make these crystal/stone pendants wrapped in wire
Promo mix for a new night in September. 36 big beat bangers in half an hour. Would like to know if it’d make you dance/smile.
@thelolguy, Your catharsis track is awesome! I think you should try looking at some reverb plugins, I reckon you’d really enjoy it, and it makes everything sound so much bigger!
