Shit that YOU MADE

 Jody Hatton (@xdude) 6 years ago

Hello! My name is Jody and I’m sick of seeing people post stupid shit that other people made.

Not on here — on Facebook. The latest plague seems to be quote images. Not text quotes, images with nothing but words in them. UGH! Consume consume!

I’m not exactly sure why I’m so threatened by it all — I mean, as a creator, noticing that 99% of people don’t make their own stuff should give me comfort.

But anyway. Here’s some stupid, pointless, mediocre shit I made — BUT I MADE IT!

Please post something YOU made!

@danfontaine, you stuff is amazing!!!

STH (6) (@stharp) 6 years ago ago

@danfontaine, Very cool work
@meghan, I like those rugs.

I’m a writer and I wrote a novel. It is a “monetized commodity” so I won’t link it here. But I want to play in this thread, so here’s the first page…

All that you are, all that you have ever been, the King’s X will reveal…

A lifetime is an arc of lightning. Potent. Unique. Impermanent. What happens when we die? Is it nothing? Is it something?

So much is hidden. So much forgotten. What knowledge remains falls to us in ancient stories of a time lost in shadow. Stories of jealous gods and tormented thieves. Prometheus and the stolen secret of fire. Eve, the Tree of Knowledge, and the taste of forbidden fruit. The clever Raven, who tricked the Sky to steal a piece of the Sun.
Long ago the King’s X was stolen from its makers. The Thief is hunted to this day. There can be no rest, not even in death. Because to carry the King’s X is to know a truth long hidden, forever outlawed, and all but forgotten.

No one dies.

What follows is a story of secrets, forbidden knowledge, and stolen fire. This is a story of the King’s X. One of many.

@kazi, Your Tumblr page is great. What do you do with your work? Is it a hobby or profession? Really interesting stuff.

And my grad dress, can’t find any more photos

SpiralOut (52) (@spiralout1) 6 years ago ago

@misssunbeam, You totally live in Vancouver! I live there myself ;)

Here’s a poem I just wrote:

Within a Dream…

You emerge from the chaotic symmetry
Aware it’s a dream within a dream within a reality of perpetual motion
A painting of a highway like an endless ocean
Stretching up and over the horizon
Forever lost and forever found
This highway Circles around
You’ve discovered a paradox breathing life into your soul
You’ve discovered time in all it’s whole
Dancing to this song in search of divinity
The Devil pulls strings for all of infinity
Dancing to this song with nothing to lose
The Devil is you, and God is too

Also check out my short film, I’m entering it in a robot film festival so I want to get those views up :)

phanci3 (46) (@phanci3) 6 years ago ago

how do i post a picture?

Kazi (139) (@kazi) 6 years ago ago

@sumtinprophetic, I don’t make prints…yet

@stharp, kind of both actually. Atm I mostly do it because it’s so fun and joyous to make them, but i am starting my first year of college in the fall where i will be studying graphic design. So in the future, this hobby will turn into a profession.

Carina (99) (@misssunbeam) 6 years ago ago

@spiralout1, I did live in Vancouver at the time, but have since migrated to a bunch of different places and ended up in Whistler now :) I watched your short film for the second time, you did an awesome job with it, congrats! And you also have a knack with poetry!

Hi, this is a project i did in my music theory class my junior year, i had to compose a piece of music and play it, i was graded on how well the performance went. i really thought this song wasnt going to be that good, but now i really enjoy it looking back.

Meghan (218) (@meghan) 6 years ago ago

@misssunbeam, You made those?!!! Wow! I’m really impressed! :D Did you use a pattern?
@stharp, Thank you!!

Carina (99) (@misssunbeam) 6 years ago ago

@meghan, Thanks :) Yes I did use a pattern, I’m not very good at doing things without instructions, I envy your ability to “wing it” :)

Meghan (218) (@meghan) 6 years ago ago

@misssunbeam, Well your dresses look fantastic! And I envy your ability to use patterns successfully. Patterns and I, ya know we tried things out. We just don’t really get along.

@misssunbeam, Excellent looking grad dress, I’m quite impressed you made it.

I’ve been learning website design, so far this is what I got. It’s also full of everything else I’ve made.

jamie findlay (16) (@cellardoor) 5 years, 11 months ago ago

Check out some of the tracks I made

Nick (195) (@nickc2007) 5 years, 10 months ago ago

Promo mix for a new night in September. 36 big beat bangers in half an hour. Would like to know if it’d make you dance/smile.

Nick (195) (@nickc2007) 5 years, 10 months ago ago

@thelolguy, Your catharsis track is awesome! I think you should try looking at some reverb plugins, I reckon you’d really enjoy it, and it makes everything sound so much bigger!
