I have a problem, about 2 months ago i started to dream before i fell asleep. This was great at first because I could visualize things that looked so fantastic, like one time I saw this box so i opened it and inside there was alot of things of interest to me, and with every item that I retreived from the box i could see them better… But just when it was unbelievably at its clearest I was shocked with pain occompanied by blue light and and a horrable static sound. |

Well obviously you are not fine, and obviously no good doctor would say that when a serious risk of some kind of tumor is possible. |

What kind of doctors have you seen? It seems like some sort of psychological block, but then again I am not a doctor (my dad is though and I am interested in this stuff). A while ago, when I would meditate, I would get a sharp ringing in my ears along with extreme agitation and anxiety. It all stemmed from me trying to pay attention to the ringing in my ears in the first place because I wanted to see what it was. Once I was abe to accept the fact that there was ringing in my ears, the agitation and anxiety was released and I was able to overcome it. Does this only happen when you try to visualize the dreams? Or does it happen every time you meditate as well? |

My regular doctor, I’ve had high blood pressure since I was 15 and an irregular heart beat. It happens every time i meditate and when I try to sleep. |

It doesn’t sound like something you can ignore and it will go away to be quite honest. And also, if it’s your primary doctor, I think his job is only to tell you if it stems from some physical problem. Next time you meditate and it happens, instead of focusing on it and becoming anxious or fearful of it and wishing for it to go away, become merely aware of it. Accept its presence and that it is there instead of fearing that it is happening/is going to happen. |

brian. i think that the thing that is happening is that you are acessing your subconscious mind and it is freaking you out. you are seeing things in that box that scare you , becuz you have never been there before. |

Thanks i will try to accept its presence. |

I do not think I am afraid of my “own self”. Its not always a box containing items, most of the time there is no box at all. That was just an example. Often it is me skateboarding and I allow my subconscious to take over and lead me wherever it wants. |

The real problem is that I can’t get to visuals now because I start gasping for air. This started once I focused on my breathing and trying to keep it steady :( |

Why do you want to have visuals in the first place? Is it improving your life? It seems like trying to get these visuals is doing you more harm than good. When you focus on your breathing, don’t try to control it. Just be aware of it. Don’t try to control anything. If your breath isn’t steady, don’t force yourself to make it steady, just let it be. |

There might be some reason you are not getting enough oxygen–this could be due to your heart or electrical impulses; it might even be the way you are breathing; your throat muscles might be closing up for some reason. Get a good physical. |
