Spirit Guides/Guardian Angels?
I know for a fact (heh I could get slammed for using that phrase) that I have spirit guides/guardian angel that “conspires with the universe to help find out my own Personal Legend.” (The Alchemist)
I’m not able to speak to them directly, but I feel their presence around me when I call them and they speak to me through signs, music, ideas, intuition, and sometimes just very very blatantly plopping something in my way. I won’t lie I haven’t mastered speaking to them, so sometimes I look too hard and it is not easy.
They’re very familiar and have repetitively executed knowing me better than myself on the truest level. They’re very comedic and immediately within my lower vibrational self immersed in the now.
I also believe I have a Guardian Angel, perhaps a more formalized, higher vibrational being that overlooks my overall well being and not wasting time taking detours to my destiny. But above all, to assist me in realizing to be myself and nothing else, to help me progress in ways necessary to take on the next step in my life to wholeness.
I’ve been having a strong pull towards Native American culture and influence, their gods and symbology. I have been fascinated with the idea of finding my “animal totem”. I just knew within my soul that it was something attributed to me on a deeply rooted level of being. My true Higher Self. And soon fell onto my affinity to owls. I’ve just recently had a visualization in the form of inspiration that married the visual of my what I believe to be my Guardian Angel.
I went to a place called Hontoon Island, FL for my birthday in Sept. It was very symbolic and was a cleansing rite pretty much. We were almost alone on the island, only available by ferry. There was an owl statue from the Native Amer. reservation it used to be standing guard at the entrance, long, tall, strange looking. Long armish looking wings. (Bought a keychain with a picture of it, btw.)
I imagined a brave Native Amer. warrior, firm yet beaming of light. Maybe even a chief, he has a headdress on top of his owl head. He carries a spear and a strange, long body.
I believe this is my Guardian Angel/Higher Self.
Anyone else believe this crazy stuff?
It’s okay, I understand that this point of view is extremely out there even to a lot of you guys probably. Unless you are already slanted towards a sort of “spiritual”, “universal consciousness” belief or some sort, maybe you can buy it.
But there are many different minds with different points of view and would to see a friendly explanation to what they have to think on this and how they think it relates to why people believe these things.
I am a firm believer, this is part of my own “religious” beliefs so to speak and have been displayed with pretty much blatant evidence (imo) over and over again. Regardless it doesn’t matter how the information has been given to me because it has always been correct and I know it in my heart.

@heedthem, I believe there is a spirit realm, it contains what we would consider both malevolent and benevolent spirits but that is only our human interpretation of their influence, as to them their is no distinction, there is no such war raging between angels and demons.
They only perform within their nature, they do their best at what they are good at and judgement in the skills and behaviours of others is irrelevant to their own purpose of succeeding in their own existence.
I believe they are heavily involved in the design of the physical realm, not only in transforming useless matter into something applicable, but in the forging of material itself, for a purpose not attainable in their intangible state. This is some kind of fulfillment of the potential of the universe.
I believe the Dreaming is the bridge between realms of the material and spiritual, and it is even more a fundamental reality, rather than as it being seen as a non-reality, and this is where the building blocks of material manifestation take its blueprint form.
@heartbeat, Yes, what @beyond, said. People have strengths and weakness, find me a person complete in understanding and I will call them God, but the thing is: 100% of their understanding must be understandable, don’t accept 100% of a teaching based on 90% of it making sense to you. We all have an inherent sense of what makes sense and what seems right or logical, you can mix it up, chop and change all throughout life.
You may find a contradiction between two principles that you hold vital, but you either adapt one or the other, or both to find common ground, or you ask yourself just what contradiction is, a conceptual impass that only exists because of reason. But one thing I know is that logic often defies reason, that is fundamental to existence, something more than the sum of parts and the scientifically paradoxical nature of the universe.
I was watching “Community” and they said how the impossible is actually more probable (paraphrase) “What makes more sense? That one of us does not belong in this group, or a ghost took the pen?”
@beyond OMG that sounds so right and logical now i understand the link lol..so that is why people believe in spirits that guide us if they have their same thoughts……that makes sense…but how are we to find out there is a link between this world and the spiritual world, even though some people have contact with another world it is not “normal” as picking up the phone or something…….
I believe we all have our own guardian angels and spirits. How it all works fundamentally I don’t know. What I’ve read about is that everyone get’s help from God. The spirits and angels work for God. So we get their help. Any time we ask for it. You might not realize how they’re helping you, they will though, if you ask for it. So will God.
@heartbeat, I pretty much grew up with it via my sister after I started questioning Christianity at age 12. When you have a “feeling” something’s going on or a coincedence happens, they’re talking to you. Or you can literally just call for them, they’ll be there immediately listening to you or trying to talk to you. Anything that you notice extra, especially if it catches your attention, or a repetition of an image or idea is them talking to you. They know you best, which means they also talk to you in ways you know best. It’s easy for me because I love music and art so they channel mostly through music lyrics and pretty images for me.
For someone who doesn’t really listen to music or like art, it’s harder for me to think of ways they might talk to someone.. But like say you think of an abstract thought out of nowhere and then it fades, then later that day your best friend brings up the same idea out of nowhere verbatim.
I have guardian spirits and angels and archangles as well that help me with everyday life. I’ve learned to communicate with them and have found out who a few number of them are. Keep praying, keep meditating, and you will continue to see positive changes in your life with them at your disposal as helper spirits.
If anyone is looking to connect with their spirit guides and angels, I think this book is pretty helpful in learning how to do so: Ask Your Guides by Sonia Choquette.
It’s basically a beginners manual on connecting with your guides and teaches you a little bit about the spiritual realms, from Sonia’s perspective of course. She seems really sincere with her explanations of everything. The book is really down to earth, and easy to follow and understand.
The first step in learning how to connect with your spirit guides is first connecting with your own spirit, picking up on how it feels and what makes it come to life. Then try to get a feel for other people’s spirits. Meditation really heps with all of this. Your basically increasing your spiritual awareness so your able to pick up on your guides and their messages.
