Has anyone checked out hyperrealistic painting? It is unbelievable! Check out these sites, they are all paintings, not photos. http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/21-mindblowing-hyperreal http://recave.com/2010/07/amazing-hyper-realist-still-life-painters/ …my favorite is the pots and pans (second link, painting 3) |

@Hannah Wow, that’s awesome. Science art is the best art. @Dustin Haha oh wow, that’s ridiculous, I’m never doing art again. Those guys are on art-steroids, their paintings are amazing. Total mindfuck. |

Manimal Haha, yeah they are frustrating! I have a friend who is an awesome artist and he said the same thing… they are considered by most artists to be the best in the world, but some people don’t like the style because it leaves little for the artist to interpret, they only match reality perfectly. |

Yeah, I don’t get this “deerrrr art must be diffuse so you can intrepret it” stuff. A picture that has a message and a meaning and is well-made is so much better. Even a nice looking picture without any meaning is better than one who is just about “You’re supposed to interpret it.” The whole interpretation thing is often just an excuse to be unfocused or a poor artist. |

That hyper realism painting is awesome, and I actually thought to myself before reading your guys’ comments that I never want to paint again after looking at those! Personally I like paintings with at least one surreal aspect to them.. for example the first painting of the strawberries I’d switch the berries to green and the stems to red… which would look extra awesome in such realistic art. |

@mANIMAl, Often, but in good artists its not, its just their way of expressing or demonstrating concepts that cannot be expressed through a realistic manner. Vision is only a sense, a lot of times our mind thinks in ways that do not mimic our visual pyramid |
