One of the most beautiful songs I have heard lately is a remix of the theme song from Inception. Here’s a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se5NBKNcsy4
What songs/artists do you love?
I’m open to all genres of music and any suggestion is appreciated. I’m also curious to see what other HEthens are interested in. My goal is to get a thread going where, not only me, but everyone can come to and hopefully find new music, because you can never have enough music in your life lol. Thanks in advance!
I’d suggest celestialshore.bandcamp.com, or, if you like electronic (not dance) music, I’ve recently become a big fan of magnetandsteel.bandcamp.com!
And, definitely check out dimlite.bandcamp.com, Dimlite’s been getting a lot of attention lately (finally!)
Matt and Kim are pretty awesome if you just want happy/jammin music, Explosions In The Sky are awesome instrumental, The Killers are one of my favorite bands ever (they’re more 00’s alternative). The General by Dispatch is amazing too
godspeed you! black emperor. They don’t have songs so much as they have compositions, but they are sublimely beautiful. They combine around a dozen instruments to create this orchestra effect, but doing so in a post-rock style rather than classical. The songs are long, yes, but sit down and listen to something by them all the way through and you will not be disappointed. (This is music that calls for complete attention to be appreciated fully; to hear every note individually as contributing to a powerful whole)
Listen to Dave Matthews Band. They just came out with a new album Away From the World. But his older stuff is my favorite. Some of my favorite songs are; Lie in Our Graves, Rapunzel, Shake Me Like a Monkey, #41, #36/Everyday, Kill the King, Too Much…. I could go on forever. ENJOY!
If you like melodic hardcore check out Hundredth, Gideon, and my band Wanderer if you can find it streaming anywhere on the internet. If you like pure Hardcore my favorite bands are Have Heart, Backtrack, and Trapped Under Ice. If you like pop punk I highly recommend The Story So Far, Such Gold, and Lions Lions. If you like Indie you cannot go wrong with Lydia, also Minus the Bear and Modest Mouse. If you like acoustic try Matt Costa, Jack Johnson, and The Scene Aesthetic. Those are the top 5 genres that I listen to.
@captainxmorgan, pat the bunny is a wonderfull artist , he has 3 band: johnny hobo and the frieght trains, wingnut dishwasher union, and his current one ramshackle glory. i would describe it as folk punk, he is very anarchist and sings about it alot but has great lyrics
