Me and my girlfriend is going to try out the lemon diet/detox starting tomorrow and I am very interested in hearing about if anyone here has experience with this or has any thoughts about it/want to try?
This diet basically is no food for ten days where the only nutrition you get is from drinking organic maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper.
Here are some information about the detox methods:
@fluxface, I believe there was a post from somebody on here not too long ago talking about this same diet but I am not certain. Let me go see if I can find it for you.
**I found the other one but it only received one reply and that person had some brief instructions: http://www.highexistence.com/topic/lemon-detox-master-cleanse-diet/
I’ve done it for 10 days. I want to do it again, I love it! But you shouldn’t just do it without preparing your body for it first. The night before I ate just about everything in my house and completely regretted it the next day. Be aware, you will most likely get very irritable at first and it will be really hard. But it’ll get easier after the third day or so, so just keep going! Are you doing it to lose weight or just for cleansing?@fluxface,
@lytning91, Well that’s the thing it doesn’t do shit.
@taylor222, A. The Lemon Diet is seriously lacking in shit your body needs.
B. What do you mean by a “regular diet?” An average American one, one with solid food, A balanced one? A good diet will cleanse your body constantly. Eat enough fiber, take big shits, and stop with the nonsense cleansing.
•Dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion formed in the body.
•Cleanse the kidney and digestive system.
•Purify the glands and cells throughout the body.
•Relieve pressure from the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
•Build a healthy blood stream.
•Keep tissue youth and elasticity regardless of our years.
You’re only doing it for 10 days. You are not going to die from not eating meat and other nutrients. It’s just a way to detox your body.
@taylor222, A good diet will do all those things too. I wouldn’t expect anyone to die in 10 days, but eating real food would be far better. Especially if you work out (and if you don’t why the hell would you do some crazy diet when there are far simpler things you can do for your health.)
SO to recap:
The body naturally detoxes itself so long as you are on a legitimate diet and maintaining a high level of hydration?
There is no scientific evidence that there is something to gain from this lemon cleanse that couldn’t be obtained from a reformed diet?
I’ve tried that. Wasn’t so bad. Try eating a tuna can a day for 30 days. I tried.. EVERYTHING! But I do it because I get bored. What’s your goal exactly? Losing weight? Cleansing? The main idea of a diet is that if you’re going to start one, then you were eating shit before that or had no knowledge of diets at all. Once you know what to eat and when, where, how, you’ll be making your own diets whenever you want. But… you have to give your body time to get used to certain foods, starvation is mainly because your body is used to the amount and types of foods. You can get used to pretty much anything, considering your lifestyle.
The point is mainly to give myself a challenge and see how it feels to fast for a relatively long period. Self training and new experience.
Seems like a good thing to do when i have a vication (pluss I came home from Roskilde Festival last week with 10 days of drinking) –
and it will give me alot of time to write and read.
Detox and a few pounds of is just a bonus.
A while ago i spent 74 hours with no lights and food, just for fun, and the result was very interesting.
Basically I´m curious of different mindstates.
@fluxface, you can try this. http://www.highexistence.com/my-14-day-juice-fast/
@fluxface, I have tried it with oranges and mandarins, I might have drank fresh lemon juice too. But you should eat something else besides the lemons. If you don’t mix it with other foods, just to satiate your hunger. The mindstate you get is awesome, you have more energy, think more clearly, don’t feel like shit when you wake up, there is no need to be absolutely strict to what it says in the diet.
But it’s hard in the beginning, you’re going to feel discomfort until your organism gets used to this, which is normal, don’t freak out. The results start showing after the first 2 weeks, after a month eating a similar diet is going to make you adapt and understand how better it is. Just don’t get too obsessed with it and complain if you don’t have such foods around, some people get too stressed if their specific food is missing.
@fluxface, That was a lot of the reason i did it, to challange myself and test my willpower. A lot of people say that they have a spiritual awakening towards the end. But i suppose that just depends on the person. It definitley does detox your body, throughout it you’ll notice a coating type on your tongue that’s white. It’s kinda gross but it goes away after a couple days, which i would assume is when the detoxing is completely over. At the end you will appreciate food much more and not crave unhealthy foods(is the goal). Definitely worth a try though, you have nothing to lose :)
