the seriousness of it all
Soo Ive been reading alot of the stuff on the site, and it is all quite very interesting but one thing ive noticed is that pretty much everone on here is searching for something. Weather it be religious answers or intirely different answers with some of the most intense imagination, and i really like it ! :)
But is there some poeple on here who really dont think much on it all, i kinda think that where just here and well we might as well have fun while were on this piece a junk planet. weather it be imagining the universe or trying to crack down on the fundimetals of a greater good, or even vilence on all kinds of levels, there are just to much people on the planet to ever have it the way one person one group will want it… i guess im just sayin who are the people the just let it be and do what they gotta ?

@truthwithinreality, Grammatical and spelling errors aside, I still see your point to a degree.
Let’s see how this response works for you:
Yes, there are a lot of people here (including myself) who are interested in pondering life’s mysteries to the fullest that we can. The thing is, though, that just because we are willing to think very deeply about the point of it and whether something might be profound or not, does not mean that we do not see the world for what it is. I think if you were to ask most of the people here, they would all agree that, despite having the option to think about life all day long, you should only do such things in moderation in order to CONTINUE actually LIVING IT.
We don’t waste our lives purely theorizing, we meditate on a mountain to climb, and then we climb it. If all we ever did was perceive the mountains, we’d feel pretty small throughout life. It’s not way to be, constantly obsessing over the nooks and crannies without actually exploring them.
So, in short, it is better to think and do, than to think OR do.
I think many people on here are searching for something because they have been missing something. As a matter of fact, I think the entire population of the Earth has been missing something, to varying degrees. There are only few people who have grown up with the necessary amount of love. If that would have been the case for all of us, the planet wouldn’t keep getting destroyed, there would be no starving people in Africa, no 12-year-olds would be sewing sweaters in India in 14-hour-shifts 6 days a week so Western women can buy them in 15 different colors for 9,90 a piece.
Then we would be simply on here to discuss matters of creativity and innovative ideas. Without much seriousness…
@truthwithinreality, I’m a bit of a grammar nazi myself, I think that if you expect me to think and reply with a thoughtful answer to your query, then you can at least put the thought into writing your question properly.
I’ve been learning to take things less and less seriously. So many things happen in life that are taken wayyyy to seriously (“OMG, Brittney shaved her head again?!?!”) but at the same time, so many things aren’t taken seriously enough. I’m trying to clear my plate before I can fill it with thoughts that matter.
obviously not if your taking minner spelling mistakes, in a sentences you can still obviously still make sence of and then say the least I can do is better myself. Next time dont THINK I EXPECT you to read and THINK I EXPECT you to reply.
Betty Blue your soo true :)
cool man i hear ya, dont gotta get all grammer nozi, i know i spell bad, but to me words are man made there for they dont existe, although there very clearly do, theyre just something I believe i shouldnt spend life on expaning and profecting
@pipthecynical, It’s not an argument, I just made a comment, and he replied, and I am now questioning his response. I did add what I thought about the initial question, however he chose to address the “off topic” part of my response.
Re reading it, it did sound a little aggressive, but I meant “you” in a general sense, I wasn’t meaning to use “you” directed at @truthwithinreality,
@truthwithinreality, whatever floats your boat, sir. I got your message and that is all that really matters. People can spell things 100% correctly and still never manage to truly communicate themselves through words alone…there’s a lot more required to define ourselves and the world than language.
i really liked your answer to that, at first i thought that this site might just be abunch of people trying to out wit and imagine others… but i really like the talk and vibes bumbin in the space place here ! pleasure i must say :)
No it hasnt i have been picked on all my life for that reason ! (but not in the last past couple years or so) and its really something stupid cuz I have a learning disorder called ADD and when im not interested in something it takes me like the longest time to learn. So therefor I can still WRITE to people on the internet who have the same views as me(cuz almost everyone i know in person doesn or pretend to like a suck up er summin) and not have to better myself just so i can be HERD… THAT IS UBSERD :) spelling mistakes for life yoo
Well, I don’t think about it at all and even the first posts on this site are about it. Everything gets repetitive here, but there are always new people with (not so) different opinions. And the best thing is I can freely make fun of everyone and everything since I was born. Hahahaha :) It’s just that the discussions about the existence are always complicated when they involve thousands of different individuals.
About the language issue, here’s something you might enjoy. http://vimeo.com/15412319
I kind of just think that existence is a serious issue that needs to be taken seriously.
That being said, this website and the topic are just a small portion of my life. There’s so much more to who I am than what I post here. So this doesn’t really reflect what I spend my time doing. Yes, I enjoy having a good debate about the existence of a metaphysical plane from time to time, but I also like going out and having a good time with friends at a BBQ somewhere just talking about video games and movies and stuff.
I just think it’s a huge jump to conclusions to think that people here are out to spend the rest of their life doing nothing but debate and out-imagine each other. I think for the most of us, this is something we do on our free time, and we still live as much of an ordinary life as we can (because, let’s face it, very few people here are “ordinary”).
