Thoughts vs Feelings
Do you think that people focus more on feelings or thoughts? What do people usually value more from a relationship? What makes us more human our thoughts or feelings?
Personally, I believe that people focus more on feeling than thought, and it’s no wonder… feeling reminds them that they are alive while thought only reminds others that they are alive (communicated thought that is),
@jenniferschwab, I think it differs from person to person. I immediately thought of the myers-briggs assessment…Some people make decisions based on thoughts and some make them based on feelings.
I think the best living is done when both feeling and thinking functions are combined- passion with logistics.
Both? Your thoughts influence your feelings and your feelings influence your thoughts.
Feelings initially, thoughts later. Beginning of new relationships are always a spark of feelings, but those die. Usually at this point the couple will value thoughts or find a new partner.
Both seem to be equally human characheristics.

@placid, I suppose thoughts and feelings would seem to be equal, because they are interconnected very closely but in ways they influence us in completely different ways. A feeling that results in an action is different than a conscious thought that results in an action. Because what encourages us to seek physical satisfaction (the id) what prompts us to do the moral thing (superego) and the ego that referees between the two lies in the unconscious mind. We are aware of our thoughts, we are unaware of what prompts us to think, what prompts us to act, and what prompts us to feel. So can our thoughts really influence our feelings?

@jenniferschwab, sometimes people are controlled by feelings… sometimes people are controlled by thoughts.
FOR EXAMPLE — you have feelings for a best guy friend. you can either listen to your feelings and tell them and hope for the best, while risking your relationship with that person. or you can listen to your thoughts, and try to ignore your feelings for him and just try to find other people and move on so you don’t ruin a perfectly great relationship.
usually people are controlled by feelings at the end of the day… but their thoughts can really mess them up, and they can overthink everything.
well, this is the way i see it, feelings that are balanced are the best guides when navigating socially as long as i use logic as the final decider, there has to be tangible proof, i use my emotions to direct my focus to then decide the validity with logic
