Depends if you get a real vape. I’ve tried a few midline vapes that do what they say… but the volcano is a lifestyle choice for the smoking connoisseur. With the right temp it can deliver the punch of a bong, with the same great vaporizing benefits.

Here’s a good link for the different temps of the different cannabinoids in weed. http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/543218-Specific-boiling-points-and-roles-of-cannabinoids

I run the first bag on 359 for a potent toke yet still cool enough to taste the flavinoids. I do 2-4 more bags at slightly higher temps each time, ending around 390. But around 375 is where it begins to get thick, and if you wanna start there it’s like hitting a bong.

Definitely vape. They are better for you, give you a cleaner high, (are more expensive), but if you get a volcano compared to getting a nice bong i would much rather smoke the volcano. Bongs get dirty very quickly, especially nice ones.

I agree with vape, I have a bong but it’s stinky and totally drug related looking. Now a vape like mentioned before, its hard to over do and it looks like kind of like a lamp (my lad has a volcano aswell) lol! It takes better, not harsh, no weed smell in the air it’s a much better smell. But I don’t think I’ll pay 600 dollars for one like his

ok ok, vape is the clear favorite here. now what are your opinions on which type of vaporizer?
portable ones like:

http://www.planetvape.ca/omicron-vaporizer-double-kit.html

the iolite / the newer wispr

OR

a hose vape / volcano like you guys have been raving about? personally i like to smoke anything, but I’m definitely thinking of investing in a vape here soon…

I personally hate the portable ones. The iolite is well made, and it does what it’s advertised to, but I wouldn’t buy one personally. I’ve never gotten a good high off one…just the starting of the feeling that I might be getting high. It doesn’t even compare with low end vapes IMO. I stick to joints for mobility…and I love em. I’ll never not smoke joints.

As far as home based units, in my opinion the Volcano > all, with the HerbalAir being a close second (having used both). Experience and temp. setting make a big difference as mentioned.

HOWEVER, the third best I’ve ever used is the ExtremeQ. I might even say this one is almost on par with HerbalAir. It can be done as a bag or a whip, and it has a great, well functioning digital thermo. At $249-$299 this is probably what I’ll buy next if I don’t bite the bullet and get a Volcano. For half the price you get almost as good performance as the Volcano. That’s hard to beat. I think the Volcano is still riding high on being the first and best, but the competition has started to catch up and Volcano prices haven’t come down accordingly. For what the ExtremeQ does for $275ish, I think the Volcano should be about $400 at best. It’s not a $600 machine anymore.

Very true, competitors are catching up fast with sleeker, unique vapes. The tech in the volcano is quite pricey but I must add that it has tripled the longevity of my weed. I paid nearly $700 for my volcano, but It refunded itself within 2 months of use. I’ve now had it for ~14months, saving me thousands of dollars.

I’m sure the savings are gained with any vaporizer, however. A cheaper one might be more cost effective if you don’t smoke often.

I moved into a 4br house with 3 other potheads and the volcano is easily the most used appliance. It gets more people higher for longer.
