What has made you happy?

@boribori90, Living has made me happy to be living. Life is fantastic in all of its areas, even in the times of pain there’s stillness and peace. :)

The times when I’ve been the happiest have mostly been in the last two years, because I moved to a place where I managed to find my best friends. So they’d be-

- Being pulled out of bed at 4 in the morning to see the full moon over the Huangpu river.
- Unannounced visits from my two best friends who insisted on playing hide and seek in my tiny apartment.
- All of us coming together to take care of my little sister who got way too drunk after prom, and realizing how much they cared about her.

More recently, the things that make me happy are realizing that you can love someone and express it even from another hemisphere. Also, dancing around my apartment to vapid pop music without being judged :)

Being in Leiden, Netherlands from January-May 2012, greatest days of my life yet. Studying abroad, meeting amazing people from Canada, England, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, USA, France, Spain, Belgium, and in no time being best friends. Chillin’ every nite in my place, drinkin’, clubbin’, blazin’, laughin’, playing videogames (Fifa), playing soccer in great green fields, running across the dutch landscape, having deep conversations as well as the most mundane ones, travelling to Berlin with them (one of the greatest cities in the world), Dublin and Belfast for St. Paddy’s Day , listening to great music, doin’ shrooms at a National Park and Museum (Kröller-Muller) connecting. I think happiness has a lot to do with excitement, connection with people, REAL connection, unveiling your masks and just being yourself, enjoying with no effort every second of your day, fluent conversations, sharing ideas and interests, experiencing life with an open mind and open heart, and a great location is just the icing of this delicious cake called happiness.
